A YouTuber has taken on the sadistic task of trying to survive for more than 100 days in Skyrim while not only playing in Survival Mode, but also on the hardest difficulty with some extra parameters thrown into the mix. It's not unusual for gamers to challenge themselves in ways that seem near impossible, such as the GTA 5 fan who attempted to do a pacifist run and spent three years playing, yet still ended up killing nearly 100 people. It's things like this that make gaming so popular.

Speaking of popularity, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is still huge in the community, despite the fact that the game was released more than a decade ago. Beginning life on the PS3 and Xbox 360, the epic RPG has remained in the AAA gaming sphere, not only because there is a dedicated fan base but also because Bethesda continues to re-release newer versions of the game on newer systems when they come out. After so long, it would be understandable to think there'd be nothing left to discover in Skyrim, but there are some players who prove that notion wrong.

YouTuber The Spiffing Brit is just such a person. In their latest video, they decided to try and last 101 days in Skyrim. On the surface, that sounds pretty easy, but the challenge is to be completed in Survival Mode and on Legendary Difficulty. And to really up the ante, some mods had been used which not only give the game a visual overhaul, but also make combat that extra bit harder by allowing enemies to dodge-roll and use healing potions more frequently. The player also imposed certain rules, such as not being able to use enchanted weapons or armor.

The fact that this is Spiffing Brit's second attempt gives some indication of how difficult this task is. For those who don't know, Skyrim's Survival Mode makes the game much harder. Among other things, it forces the player to eat, sleep, and drink, while also making it so that they can succumb to the cold. It also disables fast travelling and health regeneration. Given that there Spiffing Brit added even more factors into this challenge, it's not surprising it's such a difficult endeavor.

Skyrim has now turned 11 years old, which indicates just how long the game has been in the limelight. While many are now anticipating the next installment in the series, people like The Spiffing Brit are showing there are still lots of ways to keep busy in Tamriel.
