It's been just over ten years since the release of Bethesda's epic The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, and people are still discovering that the game is awash with many bugs, some of which can be utterly game-breaking. Even the recent Anniversary Edition is prone to glitches, with consequences that leave people somewhat baffled or upset that they can't carry on with a quest or fails to load at all. However, as frustrating as many of these are, there are times when glitches can be quite funny.

Posting a short video to the Skyrim Subreddit a couple of days ago, user decipher_11 was able to capture a moment in the game which has amused some of the commenters in the thread. Basically, what can be seen in the 45-second clip is a group of NPC Stormcloaks swiping and attacking what appears to be thin air. However, it soon becomes apparent that there is an enemy there that they are trying to kill, but said antagonist has glitched into the floor. Flashes of red can be seen on the ground as the subterranean character attempts to fight back against the group of guards who are getting nowhere with their swings.

The video cuts off after a bit and it's unclear whether the NPCs were able to end the battle or not. Other users have commented about the amusing scene they've just witnessed, with one person noting that it looked like an "average rave." One other person posted a video to another funny incident in which two characters are discussing their position on helping Skyrim's Stromcloak anti-Imperial rebellion. At various intervals, one of the characters looks towards some stone steps before the conversation carries on. This happens a couple of times and amusingly makes it seem like both characters are suspicious that the empty stairs may be disguised as some Imperial spy checking up on them.

As decipher_11's bug doesn't appear to be game-breaking and is more amusing than detrimental to play, it will likely go down as just one other funny ways that the game can glitch out unexpectedly. On the opposite end of the scale, there are some issues with the game which actually help players, such as the Skyrim bug that helped a player quickly level up combat skills, which is probably something the fan doesn't want fixing any time soon.

Oftentimes, Bethesda will update the game with a hot fix, but there doesn't seem to be any end of bugs that gamers will discover. While what decipher_11 posted is pretty funny, it can still break the immersion, which, in an industry that is keen on having immersive products, can still be considered something of a problem.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available for PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
