Star Wars and The Elder Scrolls, it goes without saying that both of these series have seen a good amount of success over the years. However, the worlds that their stories take place in are very different: The Elder Scrolls in a medieval setting while Star Wars in a sci-fi one. While most people might not think that combining the 2 popular franchises together would work, that didn’t stop one fan from creating their own Star Wars experience inside the vast open-world of Skyrim.

Created by gg77, the Star Wars Worlds in Skyrim mod somehow manages to blend the worlds of the 2 franchises together. The look of the game is reminiscent of the Star Wars universe, but abilities such as the use of magic and the inventory system remind players that they’re still playing Skyrim. The creator packed a lot of content into the mod as this version of the game features many notable characters from Star Wars such as Battle Droids, Astromechs, and Jedi Knights like Plo Koon. The player can even control Tusken Raiders and the legendary Sith Lords Darth Vader and Darth Maul.

In addition to this impressive list of characters, the mod includes various locations from Star Wars such as the bustling spaceport of Mos Eisley, the arid Tatooine desert, and the ice caves from Hoth filled with deadly Wampas. Players can also purchase a blaster rifle along with using a lightsaber instead of a sword in combat. It is worth noting that despite including the spaceport from Mos Eisley, the mod doesn’t include the location’s iconic Cantina. That being said, it seems that the creator is continuing to update the mod, so there’s a chance that more content could be added in the future.

This Star Wars mod is only one of many available for the game. Players have been experimenting with interesting mods to change the look and feel of the game for years. While the Star Wars Worlds in Skyrim mod gives players the opportunity to visit iconic locations from a galaxy far, far away, there are a number of other total conversion mods popular in Skyrim. One example of these is Middle-Earth Redone which converts the game into the locations from J.R.R. Tolkien’s famous books such as the peaceful Shire and the Mines of Moria.

In addition, this isn’t the only new Star Wars content fans are looking forward to checking out. In other news, gamers recently received a new look at LEGO Star Wars: The SkyWalker Saga. In a trailer at Gamescom, the developers showed off some impressive footage from the upcoming game. Including missions from all 9 episodes, this game appears loaded with content. However, the trailer revealed that the game has been delayed until Spring of next year.

It’s fun to see fans continue to reinvent games such as Skyrim years after release as these mods help keep older games interesting. Gamers can download gg77's mod now from the Nexus and start exploring the combined world of Star Wars and Skyrim for themselves.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
