Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness, holds the prestigious honor of being the most well-known Daedric Prince. This is partially thanks to the incredible voice acting talents of Wes Johnson, who has done voices for the series since Morrowind. While Sheogorath is well-liked by Skyrim players thanks to his love of cheese and zany behavior, the lore behind the prince is maddeningly twisted.

Sheogorath's iconic artifact, the randomizing Wabbajack, is already available and found through a questline started in Solitude. The Staff of Sheogorath, on the other hand, is a Creation Club mod that will be included in Skyrim Anniversary Edition, and it has a much more reliable (and therefore more useful) effect.

While the Wabbajack is known for its random effects that can turn a chicken into a Dremora and erase a Dwarven Centurion from existence. The Staff of Sheogorath, on the other hand, has a single effect that works every time: Paralysis. The staff doesn't have an associated school of Magic, though, and thus isn't enhanced by any skill point allocation.

  • Equipment Type: Staff
  • Raw Damage: 0
  • Inventory Weight: 8
  • Gold Value: 3965
  • Enchantment: Paralyzes every target who doesn't resist the staff within 75ft for 10 seconds, will Stagger targets as well.
  • Enchantment Uses: 7

While the Staff of Sheogorath has only a few uses (and a very high recharge cost), being able to Paralyze all NPCs in a huge radius around the player is an unparalleled ability. This is a staff that turns the tide of combat in an instant, can turn frail the most powerful of enemies, and it's got an amazing design to boost – look too long at the top of the staff, and you may find it gazing back.

How To Get The Staff of Sheogorath

Skyrim Anniversary Edition Staff of Sheogorath Guide Raven Rock

The Staff of Sheogorath is a stave that players don't find out in the world or earn directly - it has to be crafted with a special set of materials granted only through a new questline. The questline Put A Fork In It is started in the Solstheim city of Raven Rock, specifically by reading a Mysterious Note at the local tavern the Wretching Netch. The quest sends the player to kill Netches with a Fork, a task suited to the Daedric Prince of Madness.

For completing the quest, the player is given the ability to create the Staff of Sheogorath using items obtained from the slain Netches as well as two Heart Stones. However, the ability to craft enchanted Staffs is not something that can be done like other crafting skills. To access a Staff Enchanter, players must either complete the Reluctant Steward quest or complete the new Myrwatch quest included in Anniversary Edition that rewards a player home containing one of these stations.
