Retailer Best Buy unveils an exclusive bundle deal for The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Special Edition, which includes a steelbook case and a real-life Dovahkiin mask.

When The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim originally released back in 2011, many retailers offered a few key bonuses for pre-ordering the game, as well as a limited Collector's Edition. The new remastered version is apparently no different, as Best Buy is offering a unique Dragonborn Bundle that can only be purchased through the retailer.

The Dragonborn Bundle - which can be pre-ordered now - includes a PS4 or Xbox One copy of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, as well as a steelbook featuring imagery from the game to store one's game in. However, the real draw may be the Dovahkiin mask, which is based on the iconic helm that the Dragonborn wears in all of the official promotions and trailers of the game. Unfortunately, unlike the steelbook case, the mask isn't made out of metal and doesn't even look metallic, instead appearing to be made out of fleece or another type of fabric.

While some may have preferred a mask that more closely resembled the in-game helm, the inclusion of a fabric Dovahkiin mask may be partially based on the many knitted Dovahkiin masks that fans created after the game's initial release. In addition, the timing might work well for gamers who enjoy celebrating Halloween, as the game will release just a few days before the holiday. However, the extra cost might not be worth it for some gamers, as the base game is releasing for $59.99, while the two bonuses in the Best Buy Dragonborn Bundle have pushed the cost up to $74.99.

As previously announced during E3 2016, Skyrim: Special Edition will include the base game and all of the DLC released for the original title. The game has been revamped to improve its visuals, and will bring mods to the game for the Xbox One for the first time, while PC gamers can expect old Skyrim mods to work on Skyrim: Special Edition. Although it was initially revealed that both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 would feature mods, Sony has since cancelled plans to allow mods in Fallout 4. Unless something drastic changes between now and Skyrim's release, PS4 players should expect that mods won't be available for Skyrim: Special Edition, either.

Best Buy's special bundle of Skyrim: Special Edition might please some gamers, but it probably would have been better-received if the steelbook and mask were offered as exclusive pre-order gifts, rather than an additional fee tacked on to the game's price. Chances are primarily devoted Elder Scrolls fans will choose to pick up the Dragonborn Bundle, but it's nice to have an additional option if gamers are so inclined to spend a little extra cash.

Skyrim: Special Edition will release on October 28th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
