Skyrim is one of the rare examples in gaming history that boasts a massive replay value years after release and a massive cult following behind the series. Even today, gamers everywhere are finding hidden secrets in Skyrim that continue to amaze fans.

One of these new discoveries in Skyrim involves a Reddit user by the name of 'HoHw169' who posted their findings on the r/Skyrim subreddit. Apparently, if gamers can read all of the stone tablets climbing all the way up to High Hrothgar, they will unlock a secret effect.

This secret effect called "Voice of The Sky" gives players an ability over animals that prevents them from fleeing or attacking the character. Many other users thanked HoHw169 for sharing this with The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and are now fantasizing about the many implications this effect could have in the game.

Other users were confused about how they have played the game for so long and have never learned about this effect until recently. It is believed that this effect flew under everyone's radar for so long because gamers would take the most direct path up the mountain as possible to reach their 7,000 steps, and missed some tablets along the way. Another Reddit user said they only knew about this effect beforehand because they bought the original guide back when the game was first released, giving detailed explanations on how to reach every tablet.

Sadly, there are some drawbacks to this effect. Voice of The Sky only works for 24hrs in real time after it is first unlocked, and the effect goes away after fans kill their first non-hostile animal target. Not only that, but this effect does not work on the other enemies in Skyrim, such as giants, dragons, and the ice troll players encounter at the end of the mountain. Many users were bummed out after finding this news, hoping they found a quick solution to collecting pelts and leveling up their character's archery skills.

While the effect might not live up to everyone's expectations, there are still some alternatives that fans can do. For example, casting a courage spell on elk or other wild animals will attack the player instead of running away, making it easier to hunt. Unfortunately, it seems that Voice of The Sky is mainly for characters with a stealth build or players who want to sneak their way through the wilds. Luckily, gamers can recollect this effect by reading all the tablets again whenever they would like to experience a joy ride through nature.

Skyrim is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
