In a post online, a Skyrim fan has shown off a real-life quest marker made by themselves. The piece becomes the latest in a long line of fan-made real-world recreations of Skyrim items as fans continue to look for ways to honor a game that has brought them so many years of memories, with much more potentially still to come.

Released in 2011, Skyrim introduced a new generation of players to the RPG genre. Because of the impact it had on gamers, the title has been kept alive for years by its committed fan community, as well as its extremely active modding community. Without the perfect storm of both of these, there's no doubt that the game wouldn't still be as popular as it is, and there wouldn't be amazing creations like this.

The Skyrim quest marker is excellently designed, using different shades of terrazzo and resin to recreate a part of the game's user interface. The piece is extremely detailed and even manages to capture the shading of the icon perfectly. Interestingly, they're not the first fan to create a real-life interpretation of the item, with one fan 3D printing Skyrim's quest marker. While the 3D-printed item was hung on the outside of a door, it's unclear if this user plans to find a practical use for the item, or if it's purely a decorative piece.

Skyrim fans online flocked to the impressive creation, which garnered over 600 upvotes in the first 24 hours of posting. Many fans were requesting to purchase the quest marker, although the creator seemed to be keeping it for themselves. The object has clearly taken a long time to create, so it's possible that the user might not be interested in creating multiple for others. Players are always looking for interesting ways to bring their favorite franchises into their real lives, with one Skyrim fan even using an Amulet of Mara for a proposal.

Skyrim is often considered the game that brought The Elder Scrolls franchise into the mainstream. Because of this, it still holds a special place in many players' hearts as the game that introduced them to the vast world of Tamriel. Discussion is still rife about the game online, with some fans even still discussing which city is best in Skyrim. Not many games generate as much discussion twelve years after release like Skyrim, and it shows that Bethesda is right to take its time with The Elder Scrolls 6.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
