Mods can typically enhance the experience of just about any game, but this is certainly the case when it comes to The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. From texture and resolution mods that make the game more visually stunning, to user interface mods that streamline how players process information onscreen, Skyrim is home to numerous mods for players to utilize. So much so, that depending on how many mods are installed, Skyrim can look like a completely different game.

Most players tend to use mods to accomplish silly feats within Skyrim, such as one mod that allows players to send giants flying through the air with a club. However, a number of players have found mods that are able to visually transform Skyrim in ways that, to the outside observer, make the game unrecognizable.

Over on Reddit, numerous users have shown off their versions of modded Skyrim and many of them are quite transformative. One user managed to make their version of Skyrim look like something that's almost akin to The Witcher 3 in terms of its presentation. Another user added a bunch of texture mods to make the buildings and greenery to appear more crisp, as well as removing the helmets from Whiterun guards, which for any seasoned Skyrim fan, might seem rather odd. Not to mention, a mod that transforms the entire main menu screen into something completely different from the original Skyrim menu.

It's amazing to see just how much mods can impact not only the visual appearance of Skyrim, but also the nature of how the game is played and approached. Often times, modders will make entire new questlines for players to engage with. For instance, one mod allows for an epilogue to the Dark Brotherhood storyline in Skyrim.

The fact that Skyrim remains prevalent within the gaming community is quite impressive. Given the recent success of Skyrim: Anniversary Edition, it's surprising how many players are still actively playing Skyrim a full ten years after its initial release. Though, many fans of Skyrim have been wondering when its sequel will release.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for The Elder Scrolls series going forward. Despite being unveiled several years ago, there have been little to no additional development updates regarding The Elder Scrolls 6. With any luck, more information pertaining to The Elder Scrolls 6 will be revealed soon.

Skyrim: Anniversary Edition is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
