It’s no secret that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim left a mark on the gaming world that is quite unlike any other video game on the market. Despite it being over 10 years since its initial release back in 2011, it's clear fans still cannot get enough of the many items, characters, and world-building lore that went into the game. However, above all these elements, fans have recently decided to set their focus on discussing the unique swords and daggers that Skyrim offers, but rather than debating the statistical output of said weapons, this debate is purely about the more aesthetically pleasing weapons that are up for grabs throughout Tamriel.

For the uninitiated, there is an almost overwhelming amount of weapons for players to find in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. From Orcish blades to iron daggers, there is a great mixture of weapon types in the game to ensure each player finds something useful and is applicable to their specific playstyle. However, while a few of them have some pretty cool enchantments attached to them, there are also some nice-looking weapons that players should keep their eyes out for if they wish to make fellow travelers green with envy while on their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater.

Speaking of which, Reddit user Successful_Bar_2271 has recently started a massive discussion with the community that sets out to find what players think is "the best looking weapon" in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Linked to Successful_Bar_2271's question is an image that shows off nine daggers and swords, each ranging from glass to Nordic to Elven weaponry. After making the post, it quickly amassed over 1,200 upvotes, as many players were very eager to add their opinion to the ever-expanding discussion that was happening below the question.

From looking at the top replies, it is made apparent that the overall consensus is that weapons made from Glass in Skyrim have the "best fantasy aesthetic," although some argue that Glass swords can often "feel very off and out of place" because it "doesn’t seem functional" at all. With that said, some gave weapons such as The Glass Dagger bonus points, as not only does it look pretty, but it is actually one of the strongest daggers in Skyrim, trailing behind Daedric, Dragonbone, and Unique Daggers.

To wrap up, falling behind on the ranking, many players elaborated upon the discussion by adding that "Elven, Daedric and Dragonbone" plus Mage items in Skyrim "sure look cool." Surprisingly, sitting at the bottom of the list, a couple of players expressed that some Dwarven weapons can look impressive, although those who think this is most likely "in the minority" of the community.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
