One of the many alluring qualities that The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim possesses is the extreme level of user agency that players are given. Considering how open-ended the presentation of each area and mission in Skyrim is, it allows for some unique opportunities for players to individually approach the game. Though, one player has recently illustrated that sentiment in the most creatively hilarious way possible.

While each dungeon design in Skyrim is different from one another, they all tend to possess a lot of the same gameplay features, such as traps. These various in-game traps range from spike walls, fire spouts, tripwires, and sound traps that alert enemies when triggered. Nearly all of Skyrim's best dungeons feature these traps in some form or another, and while they're typically intended for the player, enemies can actually trigger these traps as well.

Over on Reddit, a user named marren17 posted a gameplay clip showing how they were able to kill numerous draugrs using a spike wall in one of the dungeons. For some of the draugrs that took more than one hit to kill, the player changed their position in-game so that the draugrs would run in the direction of the trigger, causing the spike wall to reactivate again.

This is an interesting example of how players have continued to push the limits of what can be accomplished within Skyrim. Despite being over a decade old, fans of Skyrim are still managing to find creative things to do within the game. To the point where some players have managed to achieve pacifist runs of Skyrim.

It's amazing that Skyrim's popularity has managed to persist for as long as it has. Few other games have managed to be ported across subsequent console generations and have remained relevant within the gaming community for over a decade. The fact that Skyrim: Anniversary Edition was met with such positive attention from so many fans of the game further showcases the adulation that players have for Skyrim.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for The Elder Scrolls series going forward. It's been nearly 1500 days since The Elder Scrolls 6 announcement was unveiled, and in that time, not a lot of additional news or updates have been released regarding the game's development. It's possible that Bethesda is simply juggling between several different projects, but with any luck, new information on The Elder Scrolls 6 will be revealed soon.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
