A Skyrim fan comes across a strange bow that heals targets upon hit, making it pretty much worthless during combat. The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim features several types of weapons for gamers to use, each having its own skill tree with bonus effects to help users in combat encounters. In addition, gamers can use different types of spells from one of the various schools of magic, giving them access to crowd-control abilities on top of damage-dealing spells.

Fans can also wield a bow and arrow to fight opponents from afar, with Skyrim offering different types of unique bows for players to try out. Many of these weapons come equipped with passive abilities that can turn the tide of battle in their favor, and some can be enchanted with additional bonus effects. The Auriel's Bow and Bow of Shadows are considered to be two of the best unique bows in Skyrim, but users can find different types of armaments that match their requirements. Now, one Skyrim fan comes across a strange bow that does the opposite of killing enemies.

A Reddit user named hawaiiantrashboat has shared an image from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, showing that they found a weapon called Elven Bow of Mercy. This bow’s special ability appears true to its name, as it heals targets for 112 points upon every hit. This number is significantly higher than the bow’s damage output of 27, making it so that opponents will get healed for 85 points upon getting hit by an arrow. While the Elven Bow of Mercy has a value of 1515 in the world of Skyrim, it’s probably useless in combat scenarios.

Hawaiiantrashboat calls it a joke in the post’s title, but some users claim that it could be useful in leveling up the archery skill in Skyrim. One user jokingly states that it’s great for support builds, while another mentions that it could be utilized in healing companions without using the various restoration spells available in Skyrim.

One fan recently came across a strange battleaxe with the same bonus effect, as it too healed enemies upon every strike. However, in that case, the Skyrim battleaxe would heal opponents for less than its damage output, so users would be able to eventually kill opponents if they kept swinging. The Elven Bow of Mercy shown in the image heals opponents for far more than the damage dealt, and enemies will probably always be at full health if it’s used during combat.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
