By now, pretty much everything that can be found in Skyrim has been, but there are still some fans who are finding out a few things, such as this one player who was able to go out of bounds and see evidence of the game's predecessor. Of course, many have already seen more than enough of Bethesda's 2011 epic RPG, but there are those who are still discovering that The Elder Scrolls 5 has quite a few hidden areas, some of which evade gamers for several years.

However, there are some things that need specific tactics in order to gain access to such secrets. For example, there are ways to exploit Skyrim to go out of bounds, which puts the player outside the physical boundaries of a world or specific location, in order to take a peek behind the curtain, as it were. This is a trick almost as old as gaming itself, but it's interesting to see there are fans who are just uncovering new things, even after all this time.

For example, Reddit user A_Salty_Cellist recently posted a screenshot from their Skyrim playthrough which shows them floating in the air. At least, that's how it seems at first glance. However, it doesn't take long to see the tall, faded structure off in the distance. Saying that it reminded them of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, other commenters were able to confirm that it's the White-Gold Tower from the Imperial City. A_Salty_Cellist goes on to say they found it by going out of bounds in Whiterun and heading south. User brightblade13 said that, according to the TES universe, Oblivion's capital city would indeed be around this location if the entire map of Tamriel was laid out, so that "checks out."

For those who haven't played it, the White-Gold tower is one of the most recognizable and breathtaking locations in Oblivion. Players are able to see the lofty structure from anywhere in Cyrodiil, acting as a kind of way point for this game's major hub city. To see it in Skyrim, even though it requires an out of bounds exploit, is pretty neat, especially for those who weren't aware of its presence beforehand.

It also shows just how deeply connected the Elder Scrolls games are in terms of lore and setting. Each entry in the series may exist independently, though Skyrim is essentially a sequel to Oblivion. One of the reasons the fantasy franchise is so popular is because of how each era in this fictional world ties together, filling each game with heaps of stories and traditions.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
