Bosmer, otherwise known as Wood Elves, are shown in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim less often than other races, perhaps because Valenwood is about as far as one can get from Skyrim without going across the sea. Nevertheless, they are one of the most chosen races by players as they are perfectly kitted for the ever-popular Stealth Archer build.

Because Skyrim is quite different from Valenwood, Bosmer find few comforts that remind them of home up in the frozen North. If anything, their Green Pact more closely resembles the magic of the Reachmen than Skyrim's Stormcloaks or Imperials. With the installation of a few mods, your Wood Elf will feel right at home amongst Bosmer-inspired furniture and Bow and Arrow improvements.

5 Bosmer Armor Packs

Bosmer in Skyrim are without any decent set of gear that works for their body type. Leather is too dark, and other linens simply don't line up with the terms of the Green Pact (although, being a Bosmer outside of Valenwood kind of implies the individual breaks this pact, anyway). The Bosmer Armor Pack mod, in four different parts, seeks to rectify this.

Due to the carnivorous society of the Bosmer, clothing can't be made with plant-based materials. They must make their armor (and even their weapons) from slain animals, and the Bosmer Armor Pack mods do well to show how this reliance on the hunt and on a purely carnivorous lifestyle had influenced the Wood Elves' aesthetics over time.

The Bosmer Armor Pack mods can be installed through the Steam Workshop – look for all four parts.

4 Elisdriel - Bosmer Inspired Tree House

Societally appropriate housing for the Bosmer is few and far between in Skyrim. The Elisdriel mod adds a home inspired by Bosmer style to the Hjaalmarch region of the province. It's a tree house, sitting high above the forest floor, and despite being a Bosmer-oriented home it definitely breaks the terms of the Green Pact (apples, wood chairs, and foraging nodes are a bit out of place).

All that aside though it's a beautiful residence that any Wood Elf who has made their home outside the confines of Valenwood would find more than cozy. It also has several crafting areas, custom weapons laid around the setting, and other hidden flavors just waiting to be discovered by an observant player.

The Elisdriel mod can be downloaded (and installed) through the Skyrim Nexus.

3 Amazing Race Tweaks! - Wood Elf

The Amazing Race Tweaks series of mods is a huge undertaking spanning all of the available races of Skyrim. The Wood Elf version of the mod gives Bosmer several race-specific abilities like Befriend Animal, Calm/Command Animal, and a larger boost to Archery, Illusion, Alchemy and Sneak than they get in the base game.

They are also given Wood Elf Fury, which sends the player into a flurry of attacks whenever the vast stamina required is available. Wood Elf Tracking is an innate skill that lets the Bosmer see the locations of life nearby (similar to the Detect Life spell). They also receive unique racial bonuses to Disease and Poison, Stamina regeneration, and Stealth.

Wood Elf Amazing Race Tweaks can be installed through the Steam Workshop.

2 Realistic Piercing Arrows

While some mods offer total overhauls of Skyrim from the very outset, the Realistic Piercing Arrows is a much more humble addition to the load order. In the original version of the game, arrows only stick in an NPC for a few seconds, and there's a maximum of three that can stick out of a body at once before one disappears.

The Realistic Piercing Arrows mod allows up to 25 arrows to stick out of an NPC, and they take a whopping 2 minutes to disappear. Bosmer are known for their affinity with bows, and Realistic Piercing Arrows makes the use of this ranged weapon type much, much more satisfying.

Realistic Piercing Arrows can be installed through the Steam Workshop.

1 The Bosmeric Drunken Huntsman 2.0

Bosmer Wood Elf Skyrim Best Mods Addons Drunken Huntsman

The Drunken Huntsman is the main tavern of Whiterun and is run by two Bosmer brothers: Elrindir and Anoriath. Despite the pub being operated by Wood Elves, there is a distinct lack of Wood Elf aesthetics, which this mod seeks to change.

With the Bosmeric Drunken Huntsman mod installed, players will find themselves enchanted by the crawling greenery adorning the tavern, beautiful decorations lining the walls, and several other lore-friendly Bosmeric additions to Whiterun's most popular stop. The mod also gives players the ability to use some of the Bosmer furniture displayed in the Tavern – furniture that could perhaps be used in the Bosmer-inspired Elisdriel home, even.

The Bosmeric Drunken Huntsman mod can be downloaded (and installed) through the Skyrim Nexus.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in its original moddable version (not Special Edition or otherwise) is only available for PC.
