Despite releasing in 2011, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has kept the attention of gamers. The title has been released on a number of console generations through various editions, allowing a large number of RPG lovers to try it. While the game is over a decade old, Skyrim is still pertinent to modern players.
One of the reasons the RPG has survived is the modding community. A steady stream of mods are still being made for Skyrim, giving gamers reasons to come back. The additions to the game can range from chaotic to useful, including one mod that allows players to soar through the skies.
A Reddit user known as Glenzz posted a clip where they used the "Skyrim's Paraglider" mod that gave them a glider similar to the one seen in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The video shows Glenzz standing at the edge of Throat of the World, looking down at the landscape. The player takes a running leap off of the mountain, then spawns the glider. As they slowly descend downward they look around, showcasing much of the beautiful world that makes up Skyrim. The player eventually floats down to Skyrim's city of Whiterun, where they end their journey by entering through the gates.
Glenzz's clip has gained a number of fans and sits at almost 4,000 upvotes. One user brought up the idea of being attacked by one of Skyrim's dragons while riding on the glider, to which Glenzz answered that they have been attacked in midair by the beasts. Another commenter stated that they have never touched the glider mod, but that the video made them want to try it. A number of Redditors wondered what would happen if the player landed in Whiterun from above instead of going through the entrance, to which Glenzz stated that they will do it and find out.
The glider is just one of many mods for Skyrim that players can use that is fun or useful. A gamer going by the name Vexcation uploaded a mod for Skyrim that gives players a dog companion. The German Shepherd, who has been named Sparky, starts off at level 20 and can be found in Whiterun in the courtyard of Jorrvaskr. Sparky does not affect stealth and is described as wearing Dawnguard armor. The dog can offer support in battle like other followers and cannot die as he has been deemed an "essential" NPC. The mod allows those who always wanted a dog in Skyrim to have a German Shepherd at their side at all times, granting them an incredibly loyal ally.
