A Skyrim fan has really shown off their painting prowess by creating an image inspired by one of the game's cultist enemies. The Elder Scrolls series is known for its overall beauty, and while much of that comes from the graphics and general vista of the land, there's nothing stopping players from capturing some of the darker elements of the franchise. The 2011 epic RPG may have incredible locations and breathtaking sights, but fans know there is also a moodier vibe to the game.

However, it's the beautiful scenery that often inspires great works of art that come directly from the community. With paintings of Skyrim's city Solitude or pieces that show the wondrously snowy peak of High Hrothgar, which sits halfway up the mighty Throat of the World mountain, this entry in the series has more than enough ways for people to feel compelled to create something. However, it's not just the landscape that prompts players to reach for their paint brush.

Reddit user LongFineArt has demonstrated just how talented they are by producing a Skyrim painting that depicts one of the Miraak cultists. The use of color and attention to detail really captures the darker aspects of the game, and the result is one pretty spectacular looking painting. As can be imagined, there have been a number of comments left which lavish praises upon the art and its creator, with one person even saying they may "lose sleep" over the image, most likely due to there being a somewhat creepy vibe about the cult member and their mask.

Those who are familiar with the game know that Skyrim's cultists worship the Dragon Priest Miraak. Miraak is the main antagonist in the Dragonborn DLC and is a powerful adversary. He also claims to be the first Dragoborn, which means the Nord enemy is able to Shout at the player. The fact that LongFineArt wanted to paint something inspired by this character and his followers shows there is more to the game than just gorgeous sunsets and rustic villages.

Skyrim's Dark Brotherhood guild is another example of how the Elder Scrolls series can easily shift into more ghastly territories. Anyone who's played the game will quickly see the more gloomy and gory aspects that dwell within the beautiful locales that many often picture when they think of Bethesda's decade-old release, and it's these assets that can inspire fantastic creations.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
