Fans of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim have cosplayed nearly every character from the game since its release back in 2011. However, there's a recent cosplay that sheds new light on Lydia from a close-up view.

Lydia is one of the first companions that players are likely to come across in Skyrim. A cosplayer known as DarthKweeva on Reddit recently shared their take on Lydia with the Skyrim community. In spite of criticism towards the companion being mentioned in the title by DarthKweeva themselves, Redditors are praising the new take on the classic character.

DarthKweeva's Lydia cosplay is mostly centered around a body-painted piece of armor that Skyrim fans will be familiar with. With Lydia being one of the earlier characters in Skyrim, the cosplay is immediately recognizable. The level of detail on this chest piece is impressive, and although it isn't perfectly symmetrical, it has that Elder Scrolls charm to it.

In addition to the impressive body paint, DarthKweeva's attention to detail for the cosplay's face is also noticeable. DarthKweeva has made their face sterner with the Lydia cosplay, and the sharp point to their eye make-up makes their gaze as piercing as Lydia's constant stare. DarthKweeva's brunette hair is nearly identical to Lydia's in Skyri,  and the addition of a small weave on one side makes it stand out even more.

Players will meet Lydia in Skyrim after they defeat the dragon at Whiterun's watchtower, typically within the first few hours of playtime. She's likely the first companion Skyrim fans will have, as she's unlocked after defeating the watchtower dragon. DarthKweeva hasn't only stuck to Lydia from Skyrim, as she's also cosplayed as Serana. Other gaming characters DarthKweeva has cosplayed as include Lady Dimitrescu, Joker, and Venom.

Skyrim fans took to DarthKweeva's cosplay post primarily to discuss how regularly Lydia blocks doorways. When asked how often DarthKweeva blocks entrances, the Reddit user responded by saying it's one of their favorite pastimes. One Skyrim fan lamented the fact that they lost their Lydia early on in the game and never looked back despite how unforgettable the Elder Scrolls character is.

This Skyrim cosplay from DarthKweeva isn't fully established, as the Reddit user simply shared a headshot, but it's a detailed start to a full cosplay. Lydia has more armor when players meet her in Skyrim, and they can further customize her by giving her weapons to wield. DarthKweeva hasn't teased whether or not they'll be fleshing this Skyrim cosplay out more.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
