The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim was a landmark release when it launched in 2011, and to this day, it remains incredibly popular. Fans have never stopped exploring Skyrim's massive open world, with Bethesda releasing updated versions of the game and modders creating endless content to keep fans engaged for the long-term. When one considers the massive impact Skyrim has had on the gaming industry, it's really no surprise that so many fans are excited to see what The Elder Scrolls 6 has to offer.

Like many other big games, Skyrim has inspired many fans to produce fan art in its honor. Sometimes this takes the form of 3D-printed figures of Skyrim characters and locations. Other times Skyrim fan art comes in the form of drawings or oil paintings. And other times still, it may come as the Skyrim logo painted on a door.

Reddit user AdaptableVision recently returned to their parents' house for the summer, where they found a white door with the Skyrim logo painted on it. The funny thing is, AdaptableVision is the one that painted the Skyrim logo on the door to begin with, but they had completely forgotten about it, making for a nice nostalgic surprise. In the comments section of the Reddit post, AdaptableVision explained more about the Skyrim door and their experience with Bethesda's open world epic.

According to AdaptableVision, they've been playing Skyrim since it first launched in 2011 when they were around 10 years old. "The game is honestly timeless, and it will be enjoyed by any and every generation that touches it," they added. They explained that their dad let them paint the door before it was installed, and the idea was that the room was going to be the designated game room. Nowadays, the room is used for storage.

AdaptableVision isn't joking about Skyrim's longevity. As a matter of fact, Skyrim was one of the best-selling games of May 2022 despite being over a decade old at this point. It likely enjoyed a boost from the Anniversary Edition that Bethesda put out late last year, but it's still an impressive feat nevertheless.

For those who may not be aware, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is the latest version of the game, incorporating user-made content, a fishing mechanic, and more. It also introduced native PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Skyrim, allowing the game to truly reach its full potential.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
