Skyrim is considered a classic title, not just in The Elder Scrolls series but for video games as a whole. Over a decade after its original launch, Skyrim fans are still crafting handmade tributes to the game. Now that Halloween has arrived, many fans are posting pictures of Jack-O-Lanterns carved, painted, and otherwise decorated in celebration of Skyrim.

The tradition of carving Jack-O-Lanterns goes back centuries, but Halloween came to Skyrim significantly more recently. This has not kept Skyrim fans from producing an incredible amount and variety of carved pumpkin tributes to the game. Some of the most creative gourds may give Skyrim fans ideas for pumpkins of their own this Halloween.

Redditor KentuckyFriedPotato shared a photograph of a pumpkin carved with the outline of Skyrim's iconic Iron Helmet. This piece of heavy armor is part of the Iron Armor set and can be found in the game beginning at level one. Its easy availability has led to many screenshots of new Skyrim players wearing the Iron Helmet. Perhaps KentuckyFriedPotato's Jack-O-Lantern, which features cut-out eyes and horns, is meant to guide them on their journeys.

Another Redditor, freespacer123, celebrated finishing the Companions' questline by carving the head of a howling wolf into their Jack-O-Lantern this year. The Companions faction is the warriors' guild found in Skyrim. Its questline also allows for the player to become a werewolf, which makes freespacer123's decision to celebrate the accomplishment on Halloween very fitting.

Fellow Redditor OrangeFlagStudio decided to go for something more straightforward and carved the logo of Skyrim into a pumpkin. This design, which resembles a flying dragon, is the symbol of the Imperial Legion across The Elder Scrolls games. In Skyrim proper, the symbol has been shown with a broken wing to symbolize the fall of the Empire, but OrangeFlagStudio appears to have depicted it whole.

Not every attempt at carving a pumpkin goes as planned, but Redditor Not_actuallyhelpful turned a mishap into a meme. After messing up their own attempt at carving the symbol of the Imperial Legion, they decided to paint the uncarved side of their pumpkin with the face of one of Skyrim's guards. To top it off, they decided to add the notorious line "I was once an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow to the knee," as the post's title.

Skyrim is available for PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming on November 11, 2021.
