When Bethesda's action RPG Skyrim was first released in 2011, the developers likely did not expect the game's fans to continue to love the title as long as they have. After more than a decade, the community does not seem tired with exploring Skyrim's lands of Tamriel, documenting their exciting and often hilarious adventures as the Dragonborn. Recently, a fan shared some footage they took of the game's introduction cutscene, showing just how glitched out the scenario can be from the beginning.

Many Skyrim fans will likely have a feeling of fondness for the game's iconic introduction scene. After all, the scene sets the pace of the story, introducing the player to key characters and in-game factions, as well as giving them their first experience with the dragons in Skyrim. Given how old the game is, and how many times players had to watch the intro scene every time they start the game fresh, the community often makes fun of it and creates meme-worthy content for fellow fans to enjoy.

On Reddit, user Signal-Cantaloupe273 shared a video clip of their vanilla game of Skyrim when they witnessed the introduction scene completely break right from the get-go. In the footage, the player's point-of-view shows the cart, and the scene's key NPCs, positioned way above the ground and in the mountains. The player even tries to look around to see what is going on, and is greeted with a bird's eye view of the Imperial outpost where the game's opening scene takes place. Signal-Cantaloupe273 even opens up their in-game menu, showing that their mods list is empty, indicating that mods do not seem to play a part in the scene breaking the way it did.

Seeing the footage, fellow Skyrim players discussed what seems to be the problem with Signal-Cantaloupe273's game. One mentioned that it could have something to do with their display's refresh rate setting, and another replied by saying that this was what solved their problem with the opening scene. Other fans lamented that they had the same Skyrim glitches and bugs during the introduction scene, even though they did not apply that many mods into their game.

Though these kinds of glitches seem hilarious at first, they can be quite annoying and inconvenient, especially if a player just wants to play Skyrim. Hopefully Signal-Cantaloupe273 will find a fix to the problem, and be able to play the action RPG without any further issues.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now for PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
