The act of manipulating objects from afar without ever touching them is a fascinating concept. Fortunately, in the world of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, very few things are impossible to achieve. For those who enjoy using magic, as well as Alteration spells in general, learning Telekinesis is very much possible.

Nevertheless, for newcomers to Skyrim especially, finding the Telekinesis spellbook may not seem like a straightforward affair. Luckily, finding and using the Telekinesis spell isn't too difficult if one knows where to start. Without too much effort, players can start flinging objects around the map to their heart's content.

Fixed Locations Of The Telekinesis Spellbook

Telekinesis Fixed Locations From Skyrim

The Telekinesis spellbook is only guaranteed to spawn in two fixed locations. Players who prefer the direct route can rest assured the spellbook will always be found in the following dungeons. Of course, tangling with the ill-tempered occupants of these locations is inevitable.

Redwater Den

One fixed location is Redwater Den, an area made accessible by the Dawnguard DLC. It's a small, ruined shack west of Autumnshade Clearing. The place is a Skooma den which also happens to be infested with vampires. Choosing to drink the Skooma when offered will knock the player out.

After regaining consciousness, the Dragonborn will awaken inside a cell. Next to the player, inside another adept-locked cell, is the corpse of a conjurer. Beside the body is the Telekinesis spellbook. Drinking the Skooma, however, isn't mandatory by any means, as the Dragonborn can opt for a more violent method right from the start. The cell with the spellbook can be accessed either way, though the vampires will need to be confronted.

Benkongerike Great Hall

The second fixed location can be accessed through the Dragonborn DLC. Benkongerike is a cave located southeast of Saering's Watch on the island of Solstheim. The location also contains the Black Book: Untold Legends.

Inside the second interior portion of the cave, known as Benkongerike Great Hall, lies the Telekinesis spellbook. After entering the Great Hall, there will be a Riekling tent ahead of the player. Inside the tent, buried underneath dozens of copies of the Lusty Argonian Maid, is the spellbook.

Labyrinthian, A Possible Location

Labyrinthian From Skyrim

There's technically a third location where players may find Telekinesis, though the chances of finding it are random. During "The Staff of Magnus" quest for the College of Winterhold, the ancient ruin of Labyrinthian finally becomes accessible.

When players enter the interior of Labyrinthian, there will be a table on right. One of four possible spellbooks has a chance of appearing on this table. Thus, the odds of finding Telekinesis in this manner is 25%. Not every playthrough, however, will yield such luck.

Purchasing The Telekinesis Spellbook

Tolfdir From Skyrim

Of course, if players don't want to make the trek to either of these locations, purchasing the book is always an option. Keep in mind, however, that this method requires a bit more patience. The merchants who sell the Telekinesis spellbook are:

  • Tolfdir (College of Winterhold)
  • Wylandriah (Mistveil Keep, Riften)

Since Telekinesis is considered an adept Alteration spell, players will have to wait for that particular skill to reach the appropriate level before these masters will trust them with the book. Check with the above merchants once the Alteration skill is between Level 40-50. The book should be available to purchase by then.

The Spellbook As Random Loot

Lastly, there's always the chance the Telekinesis spellbook can be found as random loot. Be diligent about checking containers as well as the bodies of fallen enemies. If the player is lucky, the spellbook might fall right into their laps effortlessly. Players may have to wait until their character is around Level 23 before the spellbook starts to appear as random loot.
