A new clip from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim shows that guards in the game can react incredibly fast if the situation requires it. City guards have been at the center of many memes that have originated from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

Since its release in 2011, Skyrim fans have also shared several videos of funny incidents or events involving the game’s guards. For example, one Skyrim player gets guards to turn on Nazeem, one of the most hated characters in the game, while another video shows a group of guards swimming in the city of Whiterun. Now, one gamer shares a clip featuring a guard showing off his incredible reaction time.

A Reddit user named SilverLugia1992 claims to be testing the Whirlwind Sprint dragon shout in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. In the video, the player selects the shout from the game’s menu but only manages to utter the first part of the shout before the guard hilariously turns around and asks them to stop using these abilities. The guard mentions that using dragon shouts inside the city of Whiterun makes people nervous, as the player promises that this incident will not happen again.

It looks like the guard turns around right as SilverLugia1992 begins to use the shout, proving that they were the right person for this job. The funny video shows that guards can react incredibly fast if the situation desires, but that still doesn’t mean that they can be completely relied upon, as one clip shows guards attacking a student of the College of Winterhold in Skyrim.

Many players in the comments section mention the guard had run out of patience with the Dragonborn. One user claims that Whiterun guards are the easiest to annoy among the cities of Skyrim before stating that they will open the cell door to tell fans to stop using these abilities in case players perform shouts inside prison.

Skyrim players should note that they can install various mods that can affect the behavior of the guards in the game. One such video shows a player using a mod that adds "AI deep fake voices” to Skyrim, resulting in the guards getting some new lines, which can then lead to the guards saying some bizarre things. In this case, one guard comes up to the player and mentions the various conspiracy theories another guard may be spreading in the world of Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
