For many gamers, being put into their favorite franchises as an NPC would be a dream come true. While this will remain a pipe dream for the vast majority of players seeking to be digitally immortalized, there are a select few that are lucky enough, or dedicated enough, to find themselves in games. The list now includes Shirley Curry, referred to by fans as "Skyrim Grandma," who will be included in The Elder Scrolls 6.

Bethesda announced her inclusion during a PAX East panel, where the company confirmed a new method of image scanning technology that will be used to create assets for the next game. It's not clear what role Curry will actually play in the game, though it's likely that she'll simply be a nod for eagle-eyed fans or some sort of wandering adventurer. It's a surprising amount of information about the game, considering that The Elder Scrolls 6 won't be at E3.

Curry is an avid gamer, regularly producing Let's Play videos of Skyrim for her YouTube channel, which currently has an impressive subscriber count of more than 483,000. It would be hard to find a more deserving individual to be added to the game, and it seems fans agree, as a recent petition to have her added to the series passed more 49,000 than signees. Curry seems elated by the news, stating, "This means a lot to me because I would be extremely happy to know somebody was playing with my character in a future Elder Scrolls game."

It's unlikely that fans will hear much more about The Elder Scrolls 6 in the next few months. Currently, all that has been shown is The Elder Scrolls 6 teaser trailer, which showed little more than a landscape that fans have used to speculate where the next game might take place. The game will most likely be a next-generation title to take full advantage of the hardware, especially with Bethesda's insistence that it's going to be a long time before the game actually releases. Regardless, at least fans can rest easy knowing that the Skyrim Grandma has gotten her due.

The Elder Scrolls 6 is in development for unspecified platforms.
