A weird Skyrim glitch has led to a player running on top of their horse. This Skyrim glitch is just as intriguing as it sounds, leaving viewers entertained and maybe even a little confused.

In some cases, glitches inspire fans to create special mods in homage to the original glitch. In this case, it is surprising that a mod has not already been produced for something like this that would be entertaining for players to experience throughout the game. However, for fans of Skyrim, the following glitch is another oddity to add to the list of bizarre things that can take place in the open world game. There have been other horse related glitches reported, like one that had a Skyrim horse flying away from the player, or one that makes an NPC look like they have a horse head instead of their normal facial features.

The title “Skyrim teaching us how to ride horses properly” is the caption that Reddit user u/Lucky1338 accompanied by their video, showcasing a bizarre circumstance that allowed for the player to run in place on top of their horse. The horse was also running during this glitch, so it could be that it was the player's character that glitched. There have been other weird ways for Skyrim to travel with their horse companions, like Parkour up unclimbable surfaces, but this looks to be a first.

What makes this clip even more impressive is that it takes place on top of a windy mountain covered in snow, which one could expect would make for a slippery slope. The player runs down the mountain side on top of their horse and then jumps before landing back on their horse in a sitting position. The Reddit community commented on how the landing was a 10/10 and called the glitch “horse surfing,” a fitting name given the circumstances. One Reddit user asked the player to do a kickflip, suggesting that the horse was equivalent to a skateboard. Among the various glitches regarding horses in Skyrim, like one that turns the player into a horse, and now one where the player is running on top of a horse, fans may suspect that they have seen all possible variations of glitches in the game involving a horse.

Knowing Skyrim, however, the game will continue to surprise the gaming community, which is a testament to the game’s popularity many years after its initial release. All of these horse glitches never fail to entertain, which displays a certain irony upon the realization that Bethesda almost cut this gameplay feature from the game entirely.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
