Of the unique, named amulets in Skyrim none is more well-known than the Gauldur Amulet, a relic that is useful for just about any build in the game. Its multi-faceted nature makes it a great choice for low-level characters, though its simple effects may leave late-game players wanting.
The Gauldur Amulet is made up of three different parts, which must be reforged into one during its associated questline. It's an easy enough quest to start, but getting to each one of its Skyrim-wide locations can be tedious – especially for Survival Mode players. By knowing the exact locations to travel to, finding and combining the pieces to this ancient artifact isn't such a daunting task.

The Gauldur Amulet is made by combining three different fragments, each of which grants a 30 point boost to either Magicka, Stamina, or Health. Characters who only rely on one of these resources might not get much use out of the Amulet, but characters who dip into multiple gameplay styles (like Battlemages or Illusion Assassins) will benefit from its triplicate buffs.
The Amulet is unique for being the only Necklace in Skyrim with a weight of 0. While most Necklaces have a weight value of 0.5 or 1, the Gauldur Amulet gives players a tiny bit more wiggle room for their inventory. There are Necklaces in Skyrim that have more powerful, more pointed effects, but the Gauldur Amulet is generally a good starting choice for multi-class builds.
How To Get The Gauldur Amulet
The Gauldur Amulet is made by combining three fragments found in dungeons throughout Skyrim as part of the "Forbidden Legend" quest. Players can either head straight to one of these locations and find a fragment, initiating the quest automatically, or look for the book titled "Lost Legends" throughout Skyrim. Reading this book starts the quest from the beginning.
The first fragment, Jyrik's fragment, is found in Saarthal near Winterhold as part of the College of Winterhold questline. It's one of the first places the player goes after becoming a student, and it's just a few minutes' journey west of the College itself. Mikrul's fragment is found in Folgunthur, located directly south of Solitude's Blue Palace on the world map screen.
The final fragment, Sigdis' fragment, is found in Geirmund's Hall, a ruin found to the east of Ivarstead in the middle of the lake. After this, head to Reachwater Rock, a cave located southeast of Markarth near the large river delta. Defeat each of the three spirits at the end of this cave to combine each fragment and reforge the Gauldur Amulet.
