It's now been almost three months since it was announced that Microsoft would be acquiring ZeniMax Media, along with its subsidiary studios like Bethesda, Arkane, and id Software. The historic purchase by the Xbox parent company has given it several classic gaming franchise to add to its often criticized first-party line-up. Now Xbox Game Pass subscribers have begun to reap some of the benefits of this acquisition as it adds one of gaming's most celebrated RPG's today: Skyrim.

Starting today, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can download and play Skyrim on their Xbox console of choice as part of the service. The Game Pass official Twitter account seemed very excited with this news, as it took to social media with an extremely funny post. Labeling the game as The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim: Special Xbox Game Pass Edition, the post advertises "features" such as "Show your wares!" and "Save your game manually!"

Skyrim isn't the only major game Xbox has been able to add to Game Pass since the ZeniMax acquisition. Game Pass subscribers have also been jumping into the demonic hellscape of Doom Eternal for the past month or so. The driving metal music playing in the background along with the satisfying feel of the game's various weapons have caused it to receive many accolades throughout the year, with some players highlighting its incredible level design.

Unfortunately, the news for Xbox Game Pass members on PC hasn't been great. As part of the Game Pass Ultimate subscription, players are supposed to be getting a free membership to EA Play as well, allowing them to play titles like Titanfall 2 and Jedi: Fallen Order. While console players have been enjoying this feature for a while now, PC players were told that it would become integrated with their experience in December of this year. However, it has now been reported that it will be delayed until 2021 for reasons that were undisclosed.

That being said, subscribers for Xbox Game Pass have plenty to look forward to in the coming months. It was recently revealed that fans of the popular Yakuza franchise will be able to play Yakuza Remastered Collection  and Yakuza 6 on both consoles and PC in 2021. With these titles being added, Game Pass subscribers will have access to all of the games in the Yakuza franchise except for the latest entry, Yakuza: Like a Dragon. It seems that when it comes the best deals in gaming, its becoming harder to deny that Xbox Game Pass is the cream of the crop.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Switch.
