With The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim existing for as long as it has, there is likely no doubt about the impact the action RPG has had on its community members. This explains why, up to now, many fans continue to play the game and even involve Skyrim in their real lives. Recently, a couple who just had a daughter shared that they named her after one of the many characters in Skyrim, indicating that both the husband and wife are fans and players of the video game.

Most of the Skyrim fan experiences shared online often feature hilarious moments and game breaking glitches. Despite the fan-created Skyrim fixes and mods, community members always seem to discover another funny incident to add flavor to their gameplay experience. However, heartwarming stories such as the couple naming their daughter after a Skyrim character does show up once in a while. This likely shows that Skyrim does provide opportunities for meaningful experiences and memories beyond the humor often found in it.

Sharing their simple story on Reddit, user Angry_Mama_Bear90 posted that they recently had their first daughter. Now a mother of four children, their first daughter was born nine months ago, and she and her husband decided to name her Karliah. Many of the game's fans who went through the Thieves Guild storyline in Skyrim will likely recognize the name. Karliah is one of the key characters in the Thieves Guild side quests, and can even become a temporary follower of the Dragonborn during these quests.

According to the Redditor, she and her husband agreed to name their first daughter Karliah back when they first got together. Back then, they had no money but owned a PlayStation 4 and the game. When their first daughter was born, the Redditor's dream finally came true and she was able to utilize their favorite character's name for her. The Reddit thread was full of congratulations for Angry_Mama_Bear90, stating that the name that they chose for their daughter was a beautiful one. Of course, being Skyrim fans, the commenters could not hold off on the humor, making a lot of puns and references to Karliah as a character and member of the Skyrim Thieves Guild.

With Skyrim being more than a decade old, it is great to see the community being so warm towards other members of the fanbase. It is possible that more stories like this will pop up, given that fans who used to play the game when it first came out are likely building their own families at this point in their lives.
