Since its launch over a decade ago, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim has become ingrained in gamer culture. Given it's been ported to nearly every game system around - in addition to some odd versions, like Alexa Skyrim - it has a way of reaching those who aren't typically part of the gamer subculture.

One example of this is Grandma Shirley, who many Skyrim fans know and love, to the point of developing a follower based off of Grandma Shirley. However, she's not the only grandma around who loves Skyrim, as one fellow fan showed.

Redditor EbenIsDaBomb took to the site to share an image of their grandma's Skyrim table. The image reveals a table completely covered in Skyrim-style objects and collectibles, some official and some not. In addition to a map of the world, a variety of crystals, candles, sculptures, and incense are scattered about. Even a reference to the game's iconic sweetrolls can be seen in the corner.

The table is definitely impressive, looking almost like an enchanter's table popped out of the game and into the world. The fans are thoroughly impressed with both the table and the fact that yet another grandmother is a fan of Skyrim. Despite the similarities, the OP noted that his grandmother and Shirley are not one and the same. After the post received high praise, the OP returned to share that their grandmother was extremely happy at the reception, and she even popped in on her own Reddit account to respond to some comments.

According to the Redditor, his grandmother is in her 70s, and loves the world of the game. Apparently, her husband has been gaming for twenty years or so, and she felt left out of game-related conversations, so they picked up a console and a copy of Skyrim for her. The rest is history, as she's become thoroughly entranced by the game and now dives into conversations about Skyrim and its expansive lore with her grandchild and husband.

Many in the comments wished that they had grandparents as cool as EbenIsDaBomb's, or at least one who was interested in their gaming hobby. The grandma responded to a request to 'adopt' her as their own grandmother, stating that she could never have too many grandchildren. Although certainly not all older folks play games, it seems as though it's becoming more common among some elders, giving them something exciting and engaging to do from the comfort of their own homes, and a new way to stay involved with their family members.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
