There are few Skyrim characters as dedicated to their jobs as the couriers. The couriers in Skyrim will pursue the Dragonborn for miles and into incredibly dangerous territory, all just to deliver a letter. Over the years, Skyrim players have encountered couriers in downright bizarre locations in the game, like when one Skyrim courier was found underwater. The latest incident involving a Skyrim courier saw them deliver a letter during an intense encounter with a powerful dragon.

In Skyrim's main story, players reach a quest called The Fallen, which requires them to capture a dragon in Whiterun. Skyrim players wind up capturing the dragon Odahviing, who eventually becomes their ally. But before Odahviing and the Dragonborn work together, the dragon is quite angry, and starts spitting fire at anyone that gets near him. It was during Odahviing's rampage that this particular Skyrim courier decided to make their presence known.

In a clip uploaded to Reddit by user ChemistryBlood, Skyrim fans can see the Dragonborn confront Odahviing at Whiterun. As Odahviing is shooting fire at the Whiterun guards, a Skyrim courier shows up to deliver a letter. The Skyrim courier casually mentions how they're not sure who the letter is from, but that they're a friend of the Dragonborn's. The courier is explaining this while Odahviing's fire is filling the entire screen, making for a rather hilarious sight.

When the Skyrim courier is done talking, the Dragonborn tries to move out of the way of Odahviing's flames. They move past the courier and retreat into Dragonsreach while Odahviing stomps after them. The courier stays in place, ignoring the massive dragon that's looming right behind them.

Skyrim players are used to couriers doing whatever it takes to deliver their letters. There have been numerous clips shared over the years of Skyrim couriers popping up at the most inopportune moments, interrupting important events to deliver their letters. Some Skyrim fans may find this annoying, but others appreciate how dedicated the couriers are to their jobs. After all, the couriers sometimes deliver important letters that Skyrim players need to trigger or advance certain quests in the game, so they are often more helpful than not.

Couriers have become a meme in Skyrim because of their disregard for their own safety in the pursuit of delivering the mail. It will be interesting to see if Bethesda brings them back for the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6. Fans will have to wait for more information on the game to find out.
