The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is stuffed to the brink with quests for players to complete, ranging from main quests to side quests to guild quests to radiant quests and more. There are a variety of ways that The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim players can get these quests, with the main method being talking to specific characters in the game. Another common method that Skyrim players get quests is by reading letters delivered to them by couriers.

Skyrim couriers pursue the Dragonborn across the game's open world whenever they have a letter that they need to deliver. Oftentimes these letters trigger new quests for Skyrim players to complete, and so couriers are rather important characters in the game. Couriers in Skyrim are extremely serious about completing their job, to the point where they will tell the Dragonborn that they're too busy to talk if they have letters they need to deliver to other characters in the game.

A viral clip on the Skyrim subreddit, uploaded by user izzysleftfoot, shows just how serious couriers are about delivering their letters and just how relentless they can be in trying to achieve their goals. In the video, a courier is seen chasing the Skyrim player around Riften, but the Dragonborn doesn't let them catch up. The courier never gives up, with the Reddit user joking that the courier is needing to reach them about their carriage's extended warranty.

The video has amassed over 13,000 upvotes at the time of this writing, with many Skyrim players finding the courier's pursuit amusing. It should be noted that is actually against the best interests of Skyrim players if they don't let the courier catch them, as it will keep them from gaining new quests to complete, stalling their progress.

It will be interesting to see if couriers will return in The Elder Scrolls 6, which is currently in development in some capacity at Bethesda. The latest rumors suggest that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still in the pre-production phase, so it may be quite some time before fans get to see the game and even longer to find out about specific gameplay features like couriers.

Well before The Elder Scrolls 6 launches, Bethesda will be releasing Starfield to the masses, with the ambitious open world sci-fi RPG currently scheduled for a November 11, 2022 launch. It seems like it would be more difficult for Starfield to properly feature a courier gameplay mechanic, but perhaps it will have some kind of futuristic equivalent. Starfield has remained shrouded in mystery so far, so fans will just have to wait and see.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
