Despite how celebrated and beloved The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is for so many players, it does have its fair share of technical issues. Ever since Skyrim first released on the sixth console generation, the game has had numerous bugs and glitches discovered by players over the years. Although, one such bug actually assisted a player's experience with Skyrim as opposed to detracting from it.

Through dilligent trial and error, players have cultivated means of increasing the various ability trees presented throughout Skyrim via many creative methods. One player managed to learn a trick that increases the lockpicking skill in Skyrim with minimal effort, but for many skills, especially combat oriented ones, it's difficult to increase the skill by way of other methods outside of active combat. Though, due to a perfectly timed bug, a certain player managed to level up their two-handed sword skill more efficiently.

A Reddit user named InstructionSlow3396 encountered a Blood Dragon with an infinite hitbox. This allows the user to perpetually level up their two-handed weapons ability without having to worry about the dragon dying. However, this does present an interesting problem, considering that the Blood Dragon will likely continue to attack and follow the player.

Believe it or not, there are plenty of exploits that players can use to level up combat abilities in a similar fashion to the one the Reddit user encountered. One of which involves Shadowmere, the horse given to the player during a Dark Brotherhood quest. Since the horse can't be killed, players can keep attacking the horse and gradually level up their combat abilities. While very morbid in nature, it is rather effective.

It's somewhat odd how Bethesda has yet to patch out some of the bugs and glitches presented within Skyrim, especially considering the age of the game. That said, many fans consider the technical issues within Skyrim part of the game's charm. The glitches have, at the very least, provided plenty of memes and fan-made content for players to enjoy online.

It will interesting to see what the future holds for The Elder Scrolls series going forward. The Elder Scrolls 6 is still currently in development, but fans have yet to receive any additional update regarding the game's development. Given how many projects Bethesda is currently working on, along with the recent release of Skyrim Anniversary Edition, it's possible that The Elder Scrolls 6 just needs more time spent on it before it can be shown off to the general public.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available for PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
