The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has received near-endless mods since its launch a decade ago, with one of the latest giving players a new Christmas-themed adventure to complete. While Skyrim's massive open world and emphasis on player choice have both played a role in the game's near-unprecedented longevity, the modding community also deserves a great deal of credit for keeping people engaged with the game for this long.

Skyrim mods have introduced quality of life improvements, upped the graphics, and have even added brand-new gameplay features, all in an attempt to enrich the experience for players. Some Skyrim mods simply replace character models in the game, whereas others are a little more ambitious, providing brand-new story content for fans to check out.

So is the case with the Spirit of Saturalia - A Christmas Quest mod, created by wSkeever. After downloading the Saturalia mod, Skyrim players will find a magical snow globe in their inventory that they can enter and explore. Inside the snow globe is a cozy home that the Dragonborn is encouraged to decorate for Christmas. As demonstrated in a video of the mod uploaded by wSkeever, this includes hanging stockings above the fireplace, setting up a Christmas tree, hanging wreaths, etc.

Skyrim players are tasked with decorating the snow globe home by an NPC named Satie, who then rewards them for their efforts with one of the gifts under the tree. Players can collect their gift to receive a special Christmas-themed outfit that they can wear on their Skyrim adventures. Overall, this is one of the more impressive Skyrim mods that have been released, and anyone looking for a new experience in Bethesda's open world game should certainly consider giving it a download. Many Skyrim players will likely enjoy the opportunity to experience new content in the game, but others may be growing anxious for a new Elder Scrolls adventure. Unfortunately, the wait for The Elder Scrolls 6 will continue to be a long one, as Bethesda is focused on releasing Starfield first. Starfield is expected to launch at some point in the first half of 2023, and assuming it meets that release date, fans could potentially expect The Elder Scrolls 6 to drop a couple of years later, in 2025. Even that might be an optimistic estimate though, so for now, Elder Scrolls fans can continue downloading mods to keep their Skyrim adventures fresh.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
