The Arms of Chaos are a collection of weapons and gear inspired by the Staff of Chaos, a stave central to the plot of the first Elder Scrolls game – The Elder Scrolls: Arena. These Arms of Chaos are brought to Skyrim with the same-named Creation Club addon originally revealed in 2019, and is included in Skyrim Anniversary Edition along with all other Creation Club content.

The Arm of the Moon and the Arm of the Sun are two new staves introduced with the addon, the Warlock's Mark is an Amulet, and the Sovereign Band is a Ring. Each has unique effects that are the envy of Mages across the province, particularly the Ring and Amulet, though they are all locked behind a lengthy cross-country questline.

Skyrim How To Get Arms of Chaos Guide

The Arms of Chaos are powerful Artifacts that require players to undertake a multi-step questline, travel back and forth between several locations, and ultimately take down three extremely powerful Dremora.

Each of the Arms of Chaos requires players to have access to a Staff Enchanter, so don't begin hunting them down unless you have completed the quest Reluctant Stewart in Tel Mithryn or have unlocked Myrwatch (another Anniversary Edition addon) which includes one as part of the creation.

How To Get The Arms of Chaos

Skyrim Anniversary Edition How To Get Arms of Chaos Guide Skytemple Ruins

The Arms of Chaos are unlocked through the same-named quest that begins in Skytemple Ruins, a short journey North from the College of Winterhold. Look for Hyenni's Journal in this dungeon, next to both Staves and the Warlock's Mark. The quest then takes players to Windhelm to locate a sunken ship by investigating the city's East Empire Company offices.

Inside the sunken ship at Pilgrim's Trench (West of Skytemple Ruins) is the Sovereign Band next to two books. Returning to Skytemple Ruins after this, players are instructed to summon three Daedra one after the other to find Sigil Stones necessary to unlock the Arms of Chaos' full power. Both staves require the player to use a Staff Enchanter, the Warlock's Mark requires a regular Forge, and the Sovereign's Band doesn't need to be refined to access its Enchantments. Building each of these three pieces completes the quest.
