While the fall is a big time for games every year, November is usually the biggest month. This year seems spread pretty evenly for the fall so far, but November still plays host to several major releases like Call of Duty: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, Shin Megami Tensei 5, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and more. Particularly, November 11 is an important date in gaming, as both the remastered GTA Trilogy and Skyrim Anniversary Edition are releasing.

Skyrim Anniversary Edition is another upgraded, re-release of the game, and because its release date is so close, a lot has been revealed recently. For example, a lot of Skyrim Anniversary Edition’s creation club content has been detailed and how Skyrim Special Edition is getting updated too has been discussed. A lot of new/community-oriented content such as fishing is coming to the game, but now it’s been revealed that Oblivion and Morrowind-based content is included as well.

It’s worth noting that, while a lot of the community-based content coming to the game has been detailed, not too much about this new content is known. Ghosts of the Tribunal is a new quest based on Morrowind, with its story likely tying into the main events of Morrowind where the PC (known as the Nerevarine) deals with the Tribunal—a trio of elves-turned-gods known as Vivec, Almalexia, and Sotha Sil. During this quest, players can earn “over a dozen” new weapons and armors related to Morrowind.

For Oblivion, it seems to go a little bit further (or, at least with more detail), revealing the quest name as The Cause. In it, players will once again tangle with the Mythic Dawn (antagonists of Oblivion) who are trying to open a new Oblivion Gate. This new storyline includes new enemies, locations, weapons, and a conjurable Daedric horse.

The big question now, given how this is confirmed new content in Skyrim Anniversary Edition, is if these new quests will feature new achievements/trophies, as well as if there is more brand new story content than this. If so, fans will likely learn more in the coming days as it is less than two weeks from release, but at the same time, it’s hard to imagine anyone being upset if it was just this. This isn’t Skyrim’s first re-release after all.

More than anything, this Skyrim release signifies the game’s ten-year anniversary. Very few games actually remain popular for ten years, which just speaks to Skyrim’s longevity. Playing the Anniversary Edition will be a good way to celebrate it, especially since The Elder Scrolls 6 news isn’t expected until after Starfield releases on November 11, 2022.

Skyrim: Anniversary Edition is releasing on November 11, 2021, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
