There are many unique weapons for players to collect in Skyrim Anniversary Edition, and one of them is the Chrysamere two-handed sword. This special weapon grants a small amount of health recovery when a fan is in combat and also provides some fire resistance and magic absorption. For those players that are in the market for such a sword, this guide details exactly how to get Chrysamere in Skyrim, and fortunately it is a fairly simple process.

Skyrim: How to Get Chrysamere

Before attempting to find Chrysamere in-game, fans should first confirm that they have the Chrysamere Creation installed. As previously indicated, this Creation is included with the Anniversary Edition, and players can check its installation status through the Creation Club that is accessed via the game’s main menu. Once a fan is certain that the Chrysamere Creation is properly setup, they are ready to track down the two-handed sword on Skyrim’s map.

With respect to where players should look for Chrysamere in Skyrim, the weapon can be obtained by slaying an NPC that is near Forelhost. For the uninitiated, that dungeon is situated to the southeast of Riften, and the enemy that fans must dispatch is the Lost Paladin. The easiest way to reach this foe is to maneuver up the arched stone that forms the entrance to Forelhost and then jump over the adjacent ledge, and fans can see this maneuver in action in the following video.

Upon locating the Lost Paladin, players should eliminate him and loot the Chrysamere two-handed sword from his remains. Fans will then be free to equip the weapon, and they will find that they have earned 15% fire resist, 10% absorb magic, and a slow health regen during combat upon doing so. While it is true that these effects may not be extremely powerful, the Chrysamere is quite easy to obtain, and it pairs well with Skyrim Anniversary Edition’s Divine Crusader armor set.

To note, players can also pickup a part of the Storm Call shout in very close proximity to where the Lost Paladin is located. Additionally, there is an NPC named Captain Valmir in a camp in front of Forelhost, and he has a quest that sends fans into the dungeon. While players need not engage with either of these things in order to obtain Chrysamere, they do provide some additional incentive for fans to make the trek southeast of Riften and collect the two-handed sword.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
