Skyrim has been a phenomenon since its first of many releases back in 2011. It has inspired many people in various different ways, most recently by motivating a fan to create a painting of the landscape within Skyrim.

The Bethesda behemoth has taken on many forms since The Elder Scrolls 5. Whether it be various console releases or fan created mods breathing new life into Skyrim, the industry has been forever changed by the Dragonborn and the game's stories.

Skyrim is host to a beautiful world, ready for players to discover. This leads to the amazing work of one dedicated Skyrim fan, ArtbyAEB over on Reddit, whose acrylic painting depicts a beautiful landscape, a peaceful pond surrounded by trees and rocks, with mountains towering over all else in the background. However, it wouldn't be a Skyrim painting without some sort of mythical presence, and that is where the dragon comes in, front and center, gliding above the pond.

This is far from the first time that fan art has been created in honor of The Elder Scrolls 5. An advantage of fan art is that it is not restricted to the same rules as the pieces of media that they draw from. For example, one piece of fan art shows a crossover between Skyrim and Lord of the Rings.

As much as Skyrim continues to captivate players over a decade after coming out, fans are looking to the next Elder Scrolls game at this point. The recent news that Bethesda has delayed Starfield may cause concern that this will push back the release of the next Elder Scrolls. Although Bethesda Studios also make the modern Fallout games, The Elder Scrolls series is the IP that they have built up from scratch.

It has already been close to four years since The Elder Scrolls 6 was first announced at E3 2018. News on the title has been so light on the ground that all fans have at this point are rumors about the gameplay and potential setting for The Elder Scrolls 6. As previously stated, the news of Starfield's delay will likely have a negative knock on effect for the next Elder Scrolls game. Despite such a long wait between the initial announcement and any solid news, it's unlikely that anticipation and hype for The Elder Scrolls 6 will drop anytime soon. Especially when it has such big shoes to fill, fans will hope that it can live up to expectations and build upon the amazing world of its predecessor.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
