The social mobile game made by Journey developers, Sky: Children of the Light, has surpassed 20 million downloads on Android and iOS just shy of its one-year anniversary.

Made by developer Thatgamecompany, who is most well-known for its groundbreaking masterpiece JourneySky released for iOS devices on July 18, 2019, and was immediately met with exceptionally positive reviews and even a handful of awards. The premise behind Sky is very similar to that of Journey: the player explores a kingdom using a cape that gives them the ability to fly, and they are able to increase their cape level, enabling them to fly farther and longer. Adding on to what Journey had built, Sky puts more emphasis on the social mechanics and interaction between players, allowing them to "grow" their friendships and interact with one another by chatting and sending gifts.

And the developers of these two visually jaw-dropping titles that have enamored gamers throughout the years are celebrating Sky: Children of the Light's 20 million download milestone with an in-game anniversary event. A secret area in Sky, The Office, will open up to all players. Many interactive decorations will be in the zone, and an anniversary party hat will be purchasable for three hearts. To access The Office, go to the hidden room in the entrance of the Vault of Knowledge.

Sharing the same art director as Journey, the epic deep-sea adventure Abzu released for the Nintendo Switch in late 2018. For anyone itching for more gorgeous and other-worldly adventures, Abzu just might scratch that itch with its cosmic-ocean setting blended with mythology and scuba diving mechanics.

Sky: Children of the Light is available free for Android and iOS, with a Nintendo Switch version coming sometime in later 2020.
