Skater XL, the upcoming latest entry in the skating genre, is being highly anticipated by many skating fans far and wide. Now, Skater XL finally has a release date.

Thanks to the official Twitter page for Skater XL, gamers and skate genre fans now know that they only have a couple of months before the impending release of Skater XL. As per a tweet detailing the release of Skater XL, it has been made known that the highly-demanded game will be coming July 7 this year.

Further details were also given in an accompanying trailer, but it appears that July 7 will see the release of Skater XL 1.0 on all major consoles, including Nintendo Switch, and PC. This applies to the digital renditions of the game, though the physical version will also be available July 7 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. As such, pre-orders for the physical version are available at some retailers.

The trailer above also shows some of the customization options available in the game, including customization options as they pertain to clothing, skateboards, and skater appearance in Skater XL. Further, the trailer shows off some of the tricks that players can chain together.

Skate genre fans and those excited for Skater XL will likely be ecstatic to know that the game is coming relatively soon. So far, the game shows a good deal of promise as a return to the skating genre since the absence of EA's Skate series. It takes place in an open urban setting and gives players the freedom to perform any number of tricks off of obstacles everywhere.

While Skate has yet to make a return, and since the Tony Hawk skateboarding games have yet to hit their stride again, Skater XL looks to fill in the gap left by the two juggernaut franchises. Hopefully, for skateboarding fans, Skater XL can take what fans loved above previous skateboarding games and polish it for the current generation, which has yet to see any truly significant skateboarding games. There are only a couple of months to find out.

Skater XL will launch July 7, 2020, on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
