In The Sims franchise, there are many beloved pre-families with their own story lines we get to influence. Since the very first game until The Sims 3, we've had the chance to witness the growth of many of these families that became staples in The Sims universe.

While The Sims 4 broke the tradition by introducing a completely alternative timeline, many of us hardcore fans still can't get enough of these iconic households and their unique stories. Thankfully, many of them are bound to return in the fifth game in the franchise, and some have even made recent appearances in The Sims 4 as a result of fan demands. Here are 10 families we would love to see make a comeback for The Sims 5.

10 The Curious Family

Who could forget about the Curious family? A household of three brothers who are interested in science and aliens, they end up with quite the fascinating story. Through alien abduction, Vidcund, one of the brothers, will actually become pregnant with an alien child. This truly quirky story line is what makes these three brothers so charming, as well as their relation to Pollination Technician 9. In The Sims 3, we're introduced to their grandfather Notzo, who is a toddler at the time of the game's events.

9 The Bachelor House

The Bachelor household is an interesting one, as it's the family that created one of the most popular characters in The Sims series: Bella. Long before she was married to Mortimer, Bella was the daughter of Simis and Jocasta. She also had a brother, Michael, who we get introduced to in the first game as a single man living on his own.

It would be cool to see the return of Michael Bachelor, with an actual family tie to Bella Goth and see how they interact with one another, and what Michael thinks of her marriage with Mortimer.

8 The Newbies

We were first introduced to the Newbies in the original game, where this family acted a tutorial for new players. Since then, they've been a staple in the game, even if their marriage doesn't seem like the best one. Bob and Betty make an appearance in The Sims 3 as teens, and were made as a family on the Gallery in The Sims 4.

In The Sims 2, we actually discover that they're the parents of Brandi Broke, a single mother just trying to get over her husband's death. Seems like the two didn't leave much behind to their daughter. Despite that, we love them for how iconic they are.

7 The Smiths

Related to the Curious household, the Smiths are definitely the oddballs of Strangetown in The Sims 2, where we first become acquainted with with them. Jenny and Pollination Technician 9 are married with two kids, Johnny and Jill. Their marriage isn't exactly the most usual one, but they seem happy nonetheless.

We haven't seen the Smiths anywhere since The Sims 2, which is a bit sad. They recently appeared on the Gallery thanks to Maxis, but we wouldn't be mad if they got added into The Sims 5.

6 The Lothario House

Everyone's favorite playboy Don Lothario became a massive icon in The Sims 2, where he came under suspicion for trying to seduce Bella away from Mortimer. His favorite pastime is flirting with women and having as many simultaneous relationships as possible. In The Sims 3 it's implied he was sent back in time by the Calientes.

Don does appear in The Sims 4, but his story is very different. Still a charmer and a serial romantic, he's likely to reappear in the game due to being a popular character.

5 The Caliente Sisters

These two sisters are are after money and success. Their first appearance is in The Sims 2, in which they have close ties to Don Lothario and seem to be planning to take Mortimer's wealth from him. In The Sims 3 they reappear in Barnacle Bay, and in The Sims 4 they actually live with their mother and Don Lothario. It's unclear why Don lives in the house since he has no romantic ties to anyone living with him, but we can assume he probably has a thing for Katrina Caliente.

4 The Landgraab Family

Known as the greedy, rich and famous family that literally own the world, the Landgraab family is one of wealth and heartless ambition. Having appeared by name since The Sims, it's no surprise they're a recurring theme in each of the games ever since. The family is involved in business and real estate, with many facilities and houses named after them. They're the ultimate leaders of The Sims universe, which is why a game without their presence wouldn't be a Sims game at all.

3 The Broke Family

The Broke family began as nothing special, and then turned into the topic of all sorts of Sims conspiracies. Brandi is the single mother of two kids, with a third one on the way. After the death of her husband Skip Broke, Brandi's been left heartbroken and tasked raising her boys alone.

The Broke family is iconic due to the shady circumstances of Skip's death, which is simply referred to as a "pool ladder incident." Moreover, the challenge of actually turning the family's luck around is what makes them so much fun to play.

2 The Pleasants

When it comes to family drama, the Pleasants are one of a kind. They're the seemingly perfect family, but the truth is that under a picture-perfect exterior, an affair is brewing and two sisters are about to tear the house down. Lilith and Angela actually appear later on in The Sims 4 Discover University as students attending school in Britechester, their opposing styles and ways of live as apparent as usual. Because we all love drama, it's no wonder we want the Pleasant back for the next game.

1 The Goths

There's no family as important and as iconic as the Goths in the franchise. Having appeared in every single game — with slight variations of course — the Goths are the typical upper-class family with a dark mansion. Bella Goth is the mysterious matriarch of the family, rumored to have some type of magical abilities or an affinity for the supernatural. Her disappearance is one of the most talked about conspiracies among Simmers and still puzzles us to this very day. A Sims game won't be complete without the Goth mansion and its rightful owners.
