Easter is a Christian holiday and tends to fall on a different day with each passing year. Many people love Easter because of egg hunts, the Easter bunny, and spending time with loved ones. The holidays may not look the same this year with the Covid-19 virus still running rampant in many areas, but players can always recreate Easter in The Sims 4. While this can’t be done with the base game, all players have to do is purchase The Sims 4: Seasons to help them create the Easter holiday of their dreams.

The beauty of The Sims is that this player-made holiday doesn’t have to follow traditional norms, either. Easter may be a Christian holiday, but The Sims is devoid of any religious factions, so players can make a non-denominational Easter holiday. Besides the activities people associate with Easter, players have the opportunity to create new traditions for their Sims on this in-game holiday. Creativity in The Sims doesn’t necessarily stop in Create-a-Sim or Build/Buy mode, and creating holidays, like Easter, are a great way to have even more fun gameplay.

Egg Hunt

Unsurprisingly, egg hunts are very much associated with Easter, though it’s still unexplained how a bunny hides eggs for children to find. Nevertheless, Sims can participate in this cultural custom if players set up the holiday to have this tradition. If this tradition is enabled, colorful eggs will appear throughout the Sims’ home lot.

While the game specifies they’ll appear in the yard, the “Hunt for Eggs” action can be done on furniture throughout the house and yield results. Much like other holiday traditions, certain Sims will “love” some traditions more than others based on their age and personality. Children may love the Egg Hunt tradition more than adults, but everyone can participate in this tradition.

Flower Bunny

Visits from the Flower Bunny function in the same way as Father Winter’s. For Sims to fulfill this tradition, all they have to do is participate in Friendly interactions with the Flower Bunny. Unlike Father Winter, the Flower Bunny doesn’t need a fireplace to show up and interact with Sims. This adorable NPC is sure to bring springtime joy to Sims (and players) on the virtual Easter holiday.

Other Applicable Traditions

Each Sims 4 holiday can have up to five traditions at a time. The Egg Hunt and Flower Bunny traditions are obvious choices if players want to create an Easter holiday, but there are others that work as well. For example, the Decorate tradition will let Sims get a positive mood buff from putting up decorations and players get to choose adorable springtime decor. Plus, many people decorate for Easter, so it’s not a stretch from real life, either.

If players want to stick with a very traditional Easter, there’s a Fasting tradition that can be added to the holiday. For Sims to participate, all they have to do is not eat for six hours at some point during the day. This tradition won’t be for all players, but its addition to the Easter holiday would definitely mimic some real-life religious practices.

Conversely, players could make Easter have a BBQ tradition or Baking tradition. Sims can get tasty meals and treats out of the holiday as well as spending time with their families and loved ones. Players just need to make sure their Sims’ skill level is high enough to actually produce high-quality food and not mediocre items.

Easter definitely isn’t a holiday for everyone because of its religious association, but that’s not an issue with The Sims 4. Players can pick and choose what traditions go into the holiday to make it a totally customizable, unique experience that’s fun for both players and their Sims.
