Glitches pop up in games all the time, but only a few are actually well-received by fans, like this odd swan glitch in The Sims 4. Players have convened around a shared video of the Sims 4 glitch, but rather than demanding it be fixed, many have actually voiced the opposite opinion.

The Sims 4 has received numerous updates and expansions over the years, and many of them have come with bugs and glitches that needed to be fixed by EA. This particular game glitch shouldn't have any negative impact on players, thankfully, and some are hoping EA keeps it as a fun little feature.

The glitch, which has been shared and highlighted by Twitter user frostybreakfast, shows a pair of swans floating on a body of water in Tartosa. The recent world was added to the title during the My Wedding Story game pack. The pair of swans are seen gradually shifting through glowing colors, including purple, blue, and teal. Interestingly enough, nothing else about them seems to be impacted, as they float peacefully on the water.

Fans responding to the tweet seem to love the glitch, with many cracking jokes about disco swans based on their colors. Others have pointed out that this seems more like a feature than a glitch, as the swans are cycling through these colors in a particularly LGBT+ friendly expansion of the title. It's not exactly clear why the colors of the swans are shifting this way; it may be that the wrong texture is assigned, or something has broken and the game is using those colors to indicate a problem, similar to pink and black squares in the Source Engine. Regardless of why the swans are going through these colors, the fans are actively hoping that EA doesn't remove the glitch, and instead keeps it around.

It's an interesting development, since most graphical glitches - even those that don't significantly impact gameplay - are usually seen as a negative. However, this is one that many people might not ever even notice, depending on whether they're accessing the Tartosa world or are more focused on their own Sims than the environment and its NPCs. For now, though, fans will have to wait and see if EA fixes it. Even if it is removed, though, chances are that modders will bring the effect back as a mod for those who still want the disco swans around in their game.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
