There are a lot of NPCs in The Sims 4. Some have special abilities that separate them from others, while some appear normal but are hiding a special Trait. Unfortunately, most players focus on NPCs like the Grim Reaper and Father Winter and forget the ones that rarely appear in the game.
In The Sims 4, some NPCs appear automatically because of a Holiday or a sudden event like death, whereas some can only be summoned by using special methods like living in a haunted house. Not all of them can be romanced, and if it's possible, some cannot have children.
8 Skeletons
Skeletons are now available in The Sims 4 thanks to the Jungle Adventure Expansion Pack. To meet them, players have to Take a Vacation using the phone on the bottom left screen. Next, pick Selvadorada as the desired location. After settling in, Simmers need to explore the jungle until they come across a temple. There's a decent chance that they'll find a skeleton wandering around. It's possible to socialize with them, but players can't gain any friendship points no matter what.
There are other ways to meet Skeletons. If players get relics while exploring the jungle, they can fuse them to summon the NPC. By combining a Death Base Relic, a Totecallama Statue, and any Refined Crystal, a servant Skeleton will appear. They will do usual chores like cooking and cleaning and then disappear after a while.
7 The Hermit
In Granite Falls, there's a secret cave that leads to the deep woods. That's where the Hermit lives. There is no specific gender, so they can be a male or a female. The Hermit is like any normal Sim, so Simmers can become friends with them, marry them, and ask them to join the household. Once they do that, another NPC Hermit will appear.
If players manage to befriend them, they can ask the Hermit to teach the Sim a special Herbalism recipe called Fungal Infusion Fertilizer. It requires:
- One Blackberry
- One Dusk Spirit
- Two False Morel
- Three Morel Mushrooms
6 Tragic Clown
The Tragic Clown is an NPC that can only be summoned by purchasing the Tragic Clown painting from Buy Mode. When players make their Sims speak with him, they'll get a Such Tragedy Sad Moodlet and start crying. After clicking on it multiple times, the same clown in the image will appear and cry with the Sims. The Tragic Clown will try doing some tricks, but he will always fail and stay sad. Unfortunately, players can’t ask him to leave. The clown will go on his own after approximately 12 hours.
If Simmers want to try playing as this NPC, it's possible by entering Create A Sim (CAS) and dressing their Sims in the Tragic Clown costume. They'll immediately get the Tears of a Clown Sad Moodlet and can do special interactions with themselves and other Sims:
- Juggle: By clicking on the clown Sim, players can make them try to juggle, but it will fail.
- Tragically Try to Cheer Up: This allows players to try and cheer up a sad Sim.
5 Elemental Spirits
Among the new features that were released with the Island Living Expansion Pack, are new Traits in CAS. One of them is the Child of the Islands Trait. It will allow the Sim to summon the Spirits of Sulani to their current Lot. If players keep performing Sulani traditions, the Spirits may bestow a blessing on them. If not, well, the Spirits will deem them as unworthy of such a blessing.
Simmers can try their luck and socialize with one of the Spirits until a proper friendship is formed. Only then will the Ask to Join Household option appear. After that, the Sulani Spirit will transform from a Ghost to a regular Sim with a Sulani Mana hidden Trait, which will allow them to summon volcanic bombs. Additionally, any children they have will be born with the Sulani Mana Trait.
4 Temperance
Temperance is the antagonist of the Paranormal Stuff Pack in The Sims 4. When players live in a haunted house, not only Guidry will appear. On the fifth night, an angry Ghost named Temperance will arrive and start wreaking chaos. She'll leave cursed stuff and give Sims a Scared Moodlet. Simmers can become friends with her, but keep in mind that she's a mean Ghost. It will take some time, as most of the interactions will get rejected.
Apparently, Temperance and Guidry used to be lovers, which is why there's an ongoing feud between them. If players want to get rid of her, they can ask Guidry for help. Another way would be to summon Bonehilda, the Skeleton Maid. If Temperance appears while the Maid is on the Lot, she will automatically fight the Ghost and kick her out.
3 Scarecrow
In the Outdoor Activities in Build Mode, there is an object called Patchy the Straw Man. After placing it down, they'll notice that it's not a normal Scarecrow. Simmers can interact with it through a variety of conversation options, which range from telling jokes, discussing birds, the effectiveness of scaring crows, and simple small talk.
If players keep socializing with it until the friendship meter is full, the Scarecrow will "wake up" at around 12 PM every day. Usually, it takes care of plants and tends the garden. But, if there aren't any, the Scarecrow will walk around like a normal Sim. The Straw Man will go back to its spot after a couple of hours.
2 Flower Bunny
Unfortunately, a lot of players have forgotten about the Flower Bunny or Easter Bunny. This NPC was released with The Sims 4 Seasons Expansion Pack. Like the Tragic Clown and Skeleton, the only way to summon the Bunny is by planning a custom holiday in the Calendar. Players will have to include the Flower Bunny as an activity in their holiday for it to appear.
Simmers can develop a friendly relationship with the Flower Bunny or even a romantic one. The NPC doesn't have a voice and it can be a male or a female.
1 Baby Ariel
Baby Ariel is based on a real-life celebrity with the same name. She's a teen that can be found in the Manage Household option in any World. Baby Ariel was released in the Get Famous Expansion Pack. She's a famous four-star celebrity that already has both Piano and Guitar Skills.
This NPC has a hidden Trait that doesn't allow her to age or die. For example, if players place her in a Lot with no fridge or stove, she won't die like usual from starvation after a few days. Baby Ariel will pat her pockets and will miraculously find food, then eat it and fill her Hunger Need.
