The Sims 3 Late Night expansion pack

The Sims 3 Late Night expansion pack has been announced by EA Games, and is scheduled to be released on October 26. In the latest of expansions, your Sim will be able to party at clubs and bars, in addition to getting new careers, skills and traits. To make the Late Night effect complete, Sims will also be able to live in apartments or penthouses.

According to the Sims 3 blog, you will now be able to live the life of a local celebrity: attending VIP events, getting the paparazzi treatment, and of course bubble themed club parties.

Amongst the Simlish (the Sim's language) music, Entertainment Weekly has reported that The Sims 3 Late Night expansion pack will feature  “Need You” by Travie McCoy,  “Na Na Na” by My Chemical Romance, “Speakers Going Hammer” by Soulja Boy; and Kelly Rowland’s “Rose Colored Glasses". There are several more surprise musicians who will also be featured in the latest expansion.

This world of night life living doesn’t just consist of fame and fortune though, as a strange underbelly lies hidden. Sims users will also be able to become one of the living dead, a vampire. Luckily for you, it won’t mean you will sparkle in the day time, but you may have a thirst for blood.

Unlike The Sims 2 vampires that would randomly attack and convert your sim, you must actively seek them out to become one in The Sims 3 Late Night. As a vampire you won't be able to go out in the sun light, but you don't have to feed off of other sims. You can either drink plasma packs or plasma fruit, or attack and feed off of others. Vampires will also have the ability to read other sims' minds. This will make it easier for you to befriend them. Adult vampires will also have the opportunity to produce baby vampires, however the effects of being a vampire won't kick in until they are a young adult.

In addition to becoming a vampire, you will also be able to become a musician, waiter or actor. There are no new towns, but the city of Bridgeport will be connected to your current location.

Essentially this is the same expansion as The Sims 2: Nightlife, but with increased graphics and a few more items. Previously, apartments and vampires were introduced in Nightlife. The clubs, bars and traits will be a completely new addition though. Some of the new items will include a piano, keyboard, drum set, and a luxury hot tub.

The Sims 3 Late Night expansion is scheduled to release October 26 in the US and October 30 in Europe for PC and Mac. The Sims 3 core game is required to play it.
