The Boys season 4 started filming last summer, which is why some more pertinent details are coming out fast and furiously. It's also why fans of the superhero-centric show are aware that the famed British actor will return after being gone from the series for the last few seasons.
Pegg spilled the beans himself, sharing a photo on his Instagram account. The picture appears to be of the actor's trailer on The Boys season 4 set and shows a piece of paper taped to the side that says, "Hugh Sr." Alongside the picture on the social media site, Pegg wrote the simple caption, "Oh Hi!" He also added the pizza rolls hashtag, which viewers of The Boys know is an allusion to the meals he loves serving his son.
It took no time for fans of The Boys to surmise what the picture meant, especially since his return was announced last year. Many of Pegg's followers celebrated quite quickly after the post was first put up. Some even wondered if the introduction of the chemicals that gave Hughie Jr. and Billy Butcher their powers might be taken by even more people and that Hugh Sr. could be someone who pops up with a super-powered storyline.
Wherever Pegg's character's story goes in The Boys season 4, it's clear that Hughie's family will be a big part of it. That's because Rosemary DeWitt has been cast as Hughie's mom. DeWitt's character will be a new addition to the Amazon Prime series, as she's only been mentioned in previous episodes. She was confirmed to still be alive in season 2, and it appears there will now be a reunion between the three Campbells.
