Death Stranding star Norman Reedus reveals that he is happy that Silent Hills didn't get released. Reedus worked with Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima on Silent Hills before it was cancelled, as the actor took on the role of the protagonist in the horror game.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Reedus revealed that he hasn't played Silent Hills P.T. The actor, who also stars in The Walking Dead, does say that he's seen the "terrifying" game being played and that he was "bummed" when it was cancelled, Death Stranding helped him to get over it. Reedus told THR that "when Hideo described what we were doing next, I completely forgot about it.  I was like, thank god that didn’t work, because this is way better."

Reedus also says that Silent Hills being cancelled means that he has been able to see how Kojima makes games. "I like the fact that Silent Hills didn’t happen, to be honest, because I’ve gotten such a peek into the way he works and the way he thinks," explains Reedus, and that "I’m completely blown away by this guy." Kojima has said that he and Mads Mikkelsen are becoming best friends so it wouldn't be surprising to learn that Reedus and Kojima have also grown incredibly close.

P.T. was just a playable teaser for a full Silent Hill horror game that Kojima was making but it was praised majorly by fans who thought it was terrifying but entertaining. Many were hugely disappointed when it was cancelled and it's why some have chosen to create a full P.T. remake, so that they can keep enjoying the horror gameplay, though the teaser isn't available for download any more. It may also be disappointing to hear that Reedus isn't as upset about the game's cancellation as they are.

However, while the full version of Silent Hills will probably never be made, there is potential for Kojima to make a new horror game with Reedus. Kojima has said that he has ideas for horror games and while the developer hasn't revealed what these games may be about, or who they will feature, Kojima seems to greatly enjoy making games with his friends so Reedus could potentially be the protagonist of his next project too.

Silent Hills was in development for unspecified platforms.
