The formerly Konami-owned Silent Hill website has not changed since it was reported in February that the only thing on the site was an angry tweet from one of the game's artists, which is surprising seeing as the series is now making a triumphant return. Containing one of the most iconic towns in horror gaming, Konami's survival horror franchise has been lying dormant for many years. Rumors upon rumors had been circling the internet for a good while, and it was recently revealed that more games in the series are in the works.

Konami announced several Silent Hill projects are in development, including two brand-new entries, an official remake from The Medium studio Bloober Team, an interactive horror experience, and a new film. In short, it's been something of a rollercoaster for fans of the iconic psychological games. What's interesting, however, is that despite this onslaught of Silent Hill-related news, the website itself doesn't seem to have caught up, as it still contains the same message that was there at the start of 2022.

The Silent Hill website still shows a post that artist Masahiro Ito made on Twitter in February 2022, in which he said he wishes he "hadn't designed fxxkin Pyramid Head." The tweet remains steadfast in the center of the page, with nothing else to speak of save for the black background and the title of the page, which says "He Was First." This may not change anytime soon because Konami let the domain name expire in 2019, which someone else then bought. It was this new owner who added the tweet to the homepage.

Ito published the angry Silent Hill tweet and an additional message from the artist stated that he would never provide a reason for the post. He clarifed that the reason was not because he wasn't receiving payments for Pyramid Head statues, pointing out that he'd "never gotten paid for those." On top of that, Ito, who designed the pointy-headed villain, has gone on record as saying that the version of the antagonist used in Dead by Daylight is wrong, stating that the one in the hit asymmetrical horror game is from Silent Hill 2, which doesn't make sense canonically as Pyramid Head is supposed to be a manifestation of James Sunderland's psyche.

However, that's not to say the artist is displeased with the franchise as a whole. In fact, Masahiro Ito is returning for the Silent Hill 2 remake, as is original composer Akira Yamaoka, which is pleasing to many fans. It's a bit of a mystery why the website has the artist's tweet up and nothing else, or whether the new owner will update it now that the Silent Hill franchise is being revived. Maybe someone will come along and finally switch Ito's message for something else.
