There have been persistent Silent Hill rumors for a while, but they reached fever pitch once Bloober Team announced it had formed a new working partnership with Silent Hill's publisher Konami. Considering the studio is responsible for horror titles such as The Medium and Layers of Fear, it's widely assumed that Bloober is making a new Silent Hill.

Some believed that they had even found evidence, thanks to a list of Bloober Team projects spotted on its official website. None of them were explicitly labelled as Silent Hill, obviously, but some suspected that one of them could be the rumored new entry. Either that or Bloober was at least working on three other games besides Silent Hill. Now the studio itself has come out to put a stop to the theorizing.

Speaking with IGN, Bloober Team's chief marketing officer Tomasz Gawlikowski states that none of these three projects are actively in development. In fact, the first one, codenamed H2O, has already been made and is better known as Layers of Fear 2, which released in 2019.

As for the other two, Black and Dum Spiro, both of them have been shelved. Gawlikowski explains that Dum Spiro went through several iterations before Bloober Team decided it couldn't deliver it in a form that was appropriately sensitive to the project's topic and commercially viable at the same time. According to its description, Dum Spiro, while another horror game, would have been set in a World War 2 era ghetto for Polish Jews, implying that it would have touched upon the Holocaust, which is obviously a very sensitive topic to tackle.

Black, meanwhile, would have been a medieval horror game and involved aliens somehow. In retrospect, neither Black nor Dum Spiro's descriptions sounded anything like a Silent Hill game, as the series has usually focused on taking average people to the titular American town. However, Gawlikowski says that the studio is still using the Black codename for a completely different project.

He added that the studio currently has two projects in development, one in the production phase and one in the pre-production phase. Both are bigger in scope compared to The Medium, but neither has anything to do with the themes and premises that have spread around online. No doubt he's not including the upcoming PlayStation 5 port of The Medium.

Gawlikowski hasn't explicitly stated that it isn't working on Silent Hill. But one thing that's for certain is that people need to forget about these 'leaked' projects and instead just wait for Bloober Team itself to announce its actual projects.
