The love for the Silent Hill franchise from its community of fans online remains strong. And there's no better evidence of that than the continued circulation of rumors surrounding a variety of Silent Hill projects said to currently be in development.

The latest example stems from an ambiguous tease from Observer and The Medium developer Bloober Team. But even that isn't the limit of the current rumors. The Bloober Team rumor, as well as others, indicate that Konami's partnered with multiple developers for upcoming Silent Hill titles.

The idea of multiple Silent Hill projects spins off of the Bloober Team rumor. To clarify what that rumor is, Bloober Team recently said in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz that it's working on a new game based in a major horror game franchise with a "famous" publisher. It doesn't get any more specific than that, which leaves a lot of room for assumptions. Silent Hill fans understandably went wild at the possibility, pointing to the fact that Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka has recently confirmed that they're working on a game with Bloober.

Bloober Team's rumor is just the latest Silent Hill project rumor, however. Earlier rumors, stemming from leaker Aesthetic Gamer (AKA Dust Golem), claimed that Sony has its own internal team working on a Silent Hill project. The team in question includes the developers of Gravity Rush, though this rumor has gone quiet since Gravity Rush's director, Keiichiro Toyama, left Sony to form their own studio.

There are few games more terrifying that Silent Hill

That wasn't the only rumor shared by Aesthetic Gamer, either. They also reported that Konami was shopping Silent Hills to Kojima Productions. Several leakers have even gone so far as saying Silent Hills is actively being developed at Kojima Productions, but like with other Silent Hill rumors, nothing has been officially confirmed.

As things stand, all that can be said is that rumors of Konami partnering with multiple different development teams to make Silent Hill games are widespread. Those rumors remain entirely unverified in an official capacity, however. Konami has not confirmed that it's working with any companies on Silent Hill.

That said, Silent Hill may not even be the only franchise that Konami is reaching out to developers seeking a partner for. VideoGamesChronicle cites sources to say that both Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid are being shopped to developers, as well. Fans may be looking forward to a golden age of Konami games, none of them developed by Konami itself. Still, it's best to maintain a healthy amount of skepticism until official announcements are made.

No Silent Hill games have been officially announced as of yet.
