There are already plenty of Silent Hill theories and leaks, and this latest one suggests that the rumored remake of the 2001 sequel could be split into multiple parts. As one of the most treasured psychological horror games ever made, the second installment in the unnerving series is an iconic entry in the genre. While many would like to see Konami release a brand-new game in the franchise, some would be happy with a remake of SH2, which past speculations have said may be in development.Luckily, there will be a revelation very soon, as Konami is due to announce Silent Hill news on October 19. What this will entail is anyone's guess at this stage, but it will hopefully shine a massive light on things, vindicating those who have been waiting years for a new game. There are those in the community who have given up hope of any follow-up or reboot of the classic horror titles, but others are still holding out that the developer will confirm that either a new entry is currently on the horizon or at the very least the sequel will be making a comeback in the form of an official remake.RELATED: Modder Gets PT Working on PS5This latest rumor comes from Twitter user SHNHorror, who uploaded a screenshot that seems to suggest that, if there is one, a remake of Silent Hill 2 will be in multiple parts. While getting ready to stream on their channel, they received a notification saying that their content was being "monetized by the copyright owner." Some details of the video being streamed, which the user simply titled "test," show that the copyrighted content in question is "Silent Hill 2: Part 1." Konami seems to be copyright claiming Silent Hill videos that are titled in parts, which suggests that a reimagining of the beloved sequel could well be episodic.

Indeed, a couple of people on Reddit have likened this to the remake of Final Fantasy 7 which is split into multiple parts. As always when it comes to anything related to Silent Hill, there has been no confirmation on whether a remake or new installments are currently in the works. It's best to take everything that's been posted so far with a grain of salt.

With additional rumors that Silent Hill's Pyramid Head designer may be returning, it's tough for horror fans to turn anywhere without coming across speculations about Konami rebooting its dormant series. Fans will have to wait and see what the studio has up its sleeves. Fortunately, that won't be long, as the Silent Hill Transmission from Konami is due October 19 at 2PM PDT, so everyone will know at least some of what's in store from that point on.

Multiple Silent Hill games are rumored to be in development.
