It hasn't been too long since Media Molecule released Dreams on PS4 in Early Access, and even though the PlayStation exclusive has only been available for several days, some folks are already managing to cobble together some pretty impressive creations with the title. For instance, one player took it upon themselves to recreate a scene from Konami's 2001 survival horror video game Silent Hill 2, with the results being quite remarkable.

According to the Redditor and Dreams user known as Huknar, they decided that their first foray into the PS4 title that would help them get their bearings with the Media Molecule game's creation tools would be to remake an early scene from Silent Hill 2. The scene in question is the intro to the survival horror game where the Silent Hill 2 protagonist James Sunderland has arrived in Silent Hill shortly after receiving a mysterious letter from his deceased wife Mary Shepherd-Sunderland.

In the picture found further below, one can see that Huknar has managed to use Dreams to nail the dirty and dreary art style from Silent Hill 2 save for there being a few key details absent from the opening of the survival horror game. To be specific, the parking lot, the exterior of the rest stop, and the distant trees and fog are all an almost exact recreation, but the scene is missing James himself and his car to fully complete the effect.

Despite the missing elements from the original Silent Hill 2 scene, it's safe to presume that many will view this creation of Huknar's in PS4's Dreams as a wonderful bit of handiwork, especially considering the amount of time it took him to put it together. According to Huknar, the Silent Hill 2 scene in Dreams has been in the works since the Media Molecule game went into Early Access on Tuesday, and they have put in roughly 40 hours with this project alone.

While Huknar's Silent Hill 2 scene in Dreams is definitely impressive, the Redditor's work with the Media Molecule game isn't the only project in the PS4 title to use older horror games as inspiration. As it so happens, Dreams was used to recreate Dead Space assets when the Media Molecule title was available during its beta period earlier this year. What's more is that another player who had access to the beta recreated the Silent Hills P.T. demo in Dreams. Bearing all of these works in mind, one can only imagine how in-depth fans' creations will be once Dreams' full version goes live.

Silent Hill 2 can be played on PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox, and Xbox 360. Dreams is available now in Early Access for PS4.
