Overwatch has always been a polished game, though that does not mean it is free from the occasional bug. The latest glitch Overwatch players have pointed out is a bit divisive, however, as some players believe it makes one of the game’s tank heroes more viable.

The glitch in question is tied to the Talon member Sigma, but instead of seeing Sigma climb walls like in an older bug, this issue is tied to the music lover’s ultimate ability. The Dutch character’s Gravitic Flux is designed to lift the enemy team into the air, slamming them with force into the ground and draining each hero of half their health. Shown by a large circle on the ground, it is clear to both sides of the fight who is and is not in the circle.

However, players have discovered that the barefoot Overwatch character’s ultimate has a bit more range than it should. In a clip from Redditor Frostychica, Sigma’s ultimate is used on D.Va, with the tank purposefully moving away from the hero with his ultimate. When D.Va is just outside the circle, Frostychica activates Sigma’s Gravitic Flux, and his fellow tank floats into the sky despite seemingly being out of the ability’s range. The clip has received a wide mix of comments from the Overwatch community.

Some players agree with Frostychica, such as the commenter Fringie who claims the “annoying” bug has happened to them as well. Other, like TherealCyclon, think that “the tip of her cockpit” was in range of the Ult. Other Redditors in the thread back up TherealCyclon, pointing out the larger hitboxes of certain characters and Mei’s ultimate having a similar effect — meaning that a portion of the community believes the ultimate ability used by Overwatch’s mad scientist is working as intended.

However, Reddit user nashraketh1596 weighed in on the topic with a different take. While they also believe this is another new Overwatch glitch, saying “it happens to me all the time,” the commenter adds they feel it should not be changed. The Redditor makes the point that “if it gets fixed then his ult will be less valuable.” With D.Va already being so close to the circle in the clip, and some arguing that she crossed the line, it seems like a fair stance. Sigma recently saw a nerf to his shields as well, perhaps making his ultimate less effective is the wrong idea.

While this Sigma clip is interesting, the bug in question is hardly game-breaking. As such, it seems unlikely that Sigma will be removed from Overwatch for fixes like with some some of the more frustrating hero bugs in the past. Perhaps the glitch in question should not be fixed at all, as far as some fans see it.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
